Go to my thread "Cardchats and members you are da bomb?" to see what happened to me.

Am just recovering from that ordeal so been playing freerolls on account of no money. But since I have my money back I will go back to U.B. I just want to withdraw all my money before I go for a new bonus, lol.

About spades - you will soooooooooo never dominate me. If you are a ery experienced player you will win half the time AT MOST.

Btw it doesnt matter "how long" you have been playing it matters how smart you are and how quickly you develop as a player. I had the luck to partner two of the most brilliant minds at cards - one of them was an Arabian one a German. People automatically jumped to the conclusion they were cheaters (as I did before I started to pard them). They were absolutely brilliant.

I can remember one final hand I had to bid seven for a win, no way to go nil (ace in second no way to dump it quickly) but long long hearts. I had at most a two b...

You wouldn't destroy me, lol, not if I have an equally experienced partner. And yes I used to play for money at a place called the zoo. And no cheating allowed. The site was set up so that luck did play a part because tournies were not won by a mere 500 points, the money went to the highest score ABOVE 500 - so you had to take a lot of risk in your last hand.

The site was impervious to cheaters as no card counters were allowed, no calculators allowed, no messengers could be on - the tables showed your opponents if anything other than the room was operating on your P.C. I really liked that because I never needed any aids to win.

I only stopped playing there because I learned to love the psychology of poker more. ...

I was actually reluctant to reply to your post because I it seemed like an advertisement - and your overtures to me to respond using such high words of praise made me even more suspicious. But because I always try to appeal to the best in human nature, I put my suspicions aside and complied with your request.

The fact that you had nothing to say about my comments and the fact that you are pulling out of this forum because your link was blocked just comfirms my suspicions that you did this to promote yourself.

p.s. I wonder if big jenna is ever gonna post again, lol, and if CC admin checked to see if she and you have the same sub mask for ips. Inquiring minds want to know.

Sorry you feel that way. Seeing as it was a link to a spades site it could possibly have been okay if it, A) did not have an advert on the main page for "poker cheat" software, and B) didn't have links on the main page to poker affiliate codes that conflict with this site. Which part of the rules & FAQs were unclear?

I went to your site and played a few hands with the bots today. I am not sure what kind of feedback you are looking for. It would help if I knew who you expect your target market to be. I don't want to rain on your parade because it looks like you did a lot of work already to get this far, but there are so many spades sites out there that are well established, what new niche were you hoping to fill? If you want your program to be successful it has to have something others don't. The Zone was so awesome because it was a real community. Attracting large groups of people (if that isyour aim) is not an easy task as many have tried before you and failed..

Here are some observations.

The graphics are ok, however, the Bot numbers are easily confused with the bid numbers. Perhaps you can give the bots names, symbols or letters to avoid the confusion because it will be a while before the tables will be full. Also their programs could use some work. Their bidding is off and they were far to ea...

Hey CallMeBaby,

I play spades online at a site that can't be posted here due to forum rules (~mod edit). I designed the thing a few years ago just for fun. I wanted to see if I could create a game that plays without downloading or installing. I succeeded at this little spades game that plays in your web browser. It's multiplayer, has live chat and the few people who play there enjoy it.

I would be honored to have pro like you give me some pointers on where the thing should go. Because its browser based I can upgrade on the fly.

Before I learned to play poker, Spades was my favourite game.

The most important thing novice players need to learn about spades is to bid to win and not bid their hand. If you are in a last hand scenario you must take the time do the calculations accurately to out bid your opponents as often hands are won on bags. It doesnt matter if you don't have the cards to make the bid, anything less is a bid to lose.

Next I think the most important thing is to get into the habit of not uncovering your hand until you need to bid, even if DN is not an option. This habit will prevent you from accidentally bidding before you have seen the bids ahead of you.

The next tip I can give you is to pay close attention to the bidding. If your partner bids "one" before you, you must have one for him, in case he doesnt have "one" but still couldn't nil.

Make good leads. One of my pet peeves is when a partner sacfices my king by leading to his short suit because he coun...

I love spades, or at least I did before deciding to design my own game and put it online. I guess I still love the game but managing a website is all consuming. Any way, I find the best way to learn the game is by playing it on a site like mine, google "spades online" and you'll find it.

Play the bots if you don't want people getting angry with you, then you'll feel your way into human play. It only takes one great round of games to get you into the swing of things. You'll be strategizing and thinking spades war in no time.

Hardest part for me was getting an accurate bid when short or long on spades.

Learning how to play when your partner bids nill. You have to throw out at least one large card in each suit early to help them get rid of the couple high cards they have. You can throw out cards in a suit you know he doesn't have so he can sluff off their high cards.

You gotta work with your partner. Also try to perfect your bidding. Adjust to your opponents playing style. If you'replaying with sandbags you gotta know when to try to set your opponent and when it would be best to just leave it be.

Hi wazimm. If you go to the Card Games General forum (which is where you can discuss any card games not related to poker), you can do a search for Spades related threads. Just click on the "Search this Forum" feature.

To answer your question, yes, I do play Spades. We used to have games all the time, but haven't in a long while. It is a great game of strategy--and if you have a good partner who knows what they're doing, you can clean house!

This is for Cardssharp. Ever played Hearts? Its sorta like that. You play with 2 two man teams, all the cards get dealt at the start. Spades are trump. The first player in a hand is the "leader" , and whatever suit he leads must be played, high card takes the book. If a player has none of that suit than a spade can be thrown to take the book. BUT if you throw a spade and then later reveal that you DID have a card of that suit, thats a re-nig and you lose 3 books. Usually you play up to a score, like say 500. before each hand you look at your cards and each team bids on the amount of books they expect to take. So say your team bids 6, if you get 60 you get 60, any less you get "set" and get nothing. any amount you take over 6 is an overbook, 10 overbooks and you lose 100 pts. Theres a TON of rule ariations so get em straight before you play, cant tell you how many arguements we've got in over spades rules. heres how i like to play

Jokers are the highest, big and little.

Used to play on Yahoo A LOT. Dingo is spot-on, with one exception; if you're playing pick-up games, getting a good partner is pure luck. I actually stop playing because I got tired of awful people that ff'd 1000 games to pump up their ratings. Great game, though!

Practice at yahoo games.

Or do what I did: Spend all night hanging out with a group of spades loving friends, for a month. By the end of that month, you'll be dead tired -- but a competent spades player. :lol

Realistically, is there any chance the two of you can get together with another couple and play spades regularly? Spades among four is much more fun than among two.

My girlfriend always wants me to play spades with her and I end up doing horrible and she gets mad at me, haha. Anyways, can anyone tell me how to play this, or point me to a really simple guide to follow to learn how to play so I can impress her next time we play? (that is if she ever plays it with me again, haha).
