PokerHost is a questionable poker site at best.
Apart from the being hacked recently, there have been numerous threads here and elsewhere about them.
The majority have been negative.
I have $58.50 in freeroll winning I will likely never see. Didn't deposit before I won.
Now I will have to play 1/2 tables and a huge amount of hands, plus depositiing to get my money out.
Like I am gonna deposit on a site that has only 200 players on it most days.

You should look into contacting eCOGRA. The organization is a self-regulatory body and offers free mediation service for players. If you are getting ignored by the customer service staff or got cheated in anyway, definitely contact eCOGRA's Fair Gaming Advocate at eCOGRA.org

Avoid Poker Host like the plague. I got banned from Poker Host for "collusion" because I played Limit style in a No Limit heads-up tourney. The tourney was between two forums, and the forum admins didn't have a problem with what I did (and who I was playing against picked up on and started doing it too without conversation). Poker Host just wanted to keep the money.

There is a limit to how much you can deposit into Neteller in a week...I'm sure it's below $1,000....unless you got the limit increased. They should have denied it....
As for pokerhost....Maybe the incident yesterday is a cover up so they can make a dash with everyone's cash!

I am an excellent poker player - however, I have a slight gambling problem (I am a businessman and always try to push my profits to the MAX). At every poker room I own 2/4 NL and 3/6 NL making tons of money... but then a single bad beat and I constantly find myself playing 5/10 and often times 10/20 (with a bankroll that can't support it). At PokerHost you'll rarely even see 5/10 NL and there was no $1000 Heads Up Sit & Go's etc that I will turn to when I take a super bad beat. When it comes to playing poker I am a winning player... but it comes to bankroll management, as soon as I take a bad beat I ALWAYS (I always tell myself not to... but it always happens anyways) go into stakes about 10 times too big for my bankroll, often playing with 1/4 or more of my bankroll at once. So Poker Host is a good option for a guy like me. At Poker Host I take a bad beat and I keep playing at the same limits (usually 2/4 or 4/8 because thats as big as it goes)

Seems as though you play for some decent stakes with a deposit like that? and if that's the case, why pokerhost? I know it's kinda profitable there but there has been so much crap about them in the past and present that I wouldn't even consider depositing that kind of money at a not so up and up site. I remember in the past withdrawing your funds from there is like having to go through congress to get funds out, not good.
Just remember there are many shady places out there waiting for people like you to deposit big funds and poof its gone, so be careful where you place your funds and why not use a more reputable site? anyway GL and hope withdrawing is easier than before.

Any normal poker room would have immediately given me $1000 credit when they looked and saw I did indeed deposit successfully and then they'd deal with their backend problems on their own time. Poker Host's website was also hacked 2 days ago and the hacker fished the person details of hundreds of poker players (I found this out after I deposited... err, attempted to deposit).
If any normal poker room would have been better, why did you deposit $1000 in a shady one? And you found out they got hacked AFTER you deposited? Shouldn't you have looked them up BEFORE? I see in another post you got your money (hopefully you can get it out too). So that's good.

matrix_xxxxx,
You don't have to convince me. Over the course of a few years I have heard nothing positive about PokerHost, why they are so popular is really beyond me. My local casino I play at most often has a sponsored tournament with them and Scotty Ngyuen, I can understand the Pro but not the pokersite :P
Unless I really have to I won't join PH.
Good luck getting this straightened out.

So I decide PokerHost.com would be a good place to play poker (stupidly).
I deposit $1000 ia Neteller... their client says "Transaction Successful" but when I go into my cashier I don't see any money! Weird I thought, I guess the transaction didn't go through! I go to neteller.com just to double check - but wait, $1000 has been taken out of my neteller account by PokerHost! So, they have my money, but they are not giving me credit for it! WHAT THE HELL! Immediately I contact their online support... where they told me some BS about how $1000 was too much to deposit. I told them that I didn't give a flying f*ck if they thought it was too much to deposit (you know your a poker room meant for low rollers when $1000 in too large a deposit) and that they took the money out of my neteller account therefore I either want it returned to my neteller or to be given credit for it so I can play poker. Poker support then told me it was "out of their hands" and that they will work on getting me... | | Read Entire Entry |
