Whaaa??? You mean you don't know?? It's the Luck Dragon, Falcore, from the movie The Never-Ending Story. Everyone should see it at least once (but don't bother with the sequels).
And now, I don't think this thread could have gotten any further off track. As if we don't have enough "fresh" OMG RIGGED!!! threads going, one that's older than dirt gets drug up.

Not sure Chuck but man it's a little tiresome to start reading something and realize "Hey I have read this before" look at the date and it's atleast 8 months old to over a year old. Especially if it had already been answered.

It is like a never ending story
Party Poker is completely random, as are all of the major sites. You have nothing to fear.
I also seriously doubt that Party are worried about losing people and having to 'buy them off'. They have a ridulous number of active members. They are the only site that has a decent level of MTTs (IMO) (in terms of size, buy-in and frequency). Stars is OK, but still way below.
You also try getting a decent level Omaha cash game going on any other site....near impossible 18 hrs of the day. Dont worry PP, i will protect you, lol
ps, no i dont work for Party

just from my experience with party poker, the hands i get in party poker tends to be a LOT betta than the hands i'd get in say a sit-down game with friends, it seems as if the quantity of good hands people get tends to be higher than normal...

I've played at party poker, Actually I'm a crazed idiot, I've downloaded probably about 150 different kinds of poker sites, I should seriously get paid for all the freakin investigations I do on sites. I test from Paradise, down to the lowest game on google. I've noticed tho they are all about the same, You will sit, and you will either sit good or sit bad. I used to think it favored big stacks and with bgshoes I kinda agree, seems like if you're in a big tourney that is already taking hours it starts to speed it up in it's own way with knocking people out. Has too, it's just too often bad beats pop up all-in during a 100+ tourney. Still they are all about the same. I don't think honestly tho the "SITE" itself has anything against you, or favors a certain player. It is hard to win with a great hand when certain players will play any two cards they hold in thier hand. 86 os s your aa players will actually call a huge raise and catch a straight and it's pathetic but that's online poker. All site... | | Read Entire Entry |

Its not about "do bad beats happen". They do.
Its just that they seem to happen on the key hands that matter the most. For instance on Party Poker I was just out of the money in 20 man tournament in fourth place or fifth dont remember. Anyways I look down at ak or some ariation thereof short stacked and raise, only big 30k stack calls my raise so its heads up. Flop AAQ.
Figure tight got trip aces heads up whaddya want. No problem though he had qq in hand of course so after the all in what hits turn? queen. Hey I got my boat, he got his quads, only two people in hand what a flop.
Groan, zzzzz, uh huh sorry dont believe cards so random for all the times I've folded 72 j10 k5 that getting boat like that would be bad beat by quads on that particular KEY hand which of course knocks u out, puts them in money, and gets tourney over faster. NEXT!

Seems like they could be losing all their players so theyre trying to keep the remaining ones with free money and gifts.

Yea true, but this isn't the first time I've heard people specifically blame party poker. It's strange but I've heard lots of different people from different forums complain about party poker. When you think about it though, you're bound to get beat like this a LOT in low limit games. People will call you on anything, even if you raise. Even pocket Aces only hold a 31 percent chance of winning in a pot with 9 other people in it. I suggest you raise a LOT or go all-in if youre playing non tourney, low stakes games. This should eliminate most of the scragglers as even the loose players probably arent willing to give up 1-2$ on a poor hand.

I never thought of it like that. That does make sense. You don't see the bad beats on t.v. cause you don't see many hands at all. I admit, for a while I thought a certain poker site was just out to get me! I mean all day long one bad beat after another. And yes it was just after a payout, which further made me skeptical. But in the end it was probably a bad day. I've had those before where it seems like you can't beat anyone. Having bet on Sports alot, You see those days as well, and the Sportsbook has nothing to do with which team you pick... Come on who loses 7 bets in a row, when all you have to do is pick 1 out 2.

Anywhere you play you will get bad beats, on the internet you see so many more hands it just feels like they happen all the time.

wow not another one ;]
its all a big misunderstanding
basically you get a lot more hands online than irl, hands typically last about 1 min, also there are a lot more players on the one site than at a typical home game or in a casino
so when you have a lot more hands per hour you are going to see more bad beats
also there are a lot of bad players online who will sit there calling down long shot draws, often 3 players can be trying to outdraw your hand which may at that time be best, more players doing that more times they are going to hit them
its also often rather cheap for them to call, specially at the low limits, again meaning you will see more callers
of course it also means your good hands will get paid off a lot more than against better players, when they hold up you would have gained all those extra bets from those bad players still trying to hit their outs, or worse yet for them the extra bets when drawing dead
