The fact of the matter is, someone who has great discipline, patience, and skill can turn that $1.10 into a small fortune. So while $1.10, sure, isn't a lot of money, it's a jumping off point with which the possibilities are endless....oh, yeah, and the fact that he bested 8700 players in one sitting...when's the last time any of us have done that?
Congrats AI on a job well done.

I'm not saying I agree with the guy and he definitely wasn't ery nice about it - but, he does have a point. Playing in freerolls with 8700 players should only be for fun. IF you're trying to make money...it's probably not the best way to go. I think we can all agree on that.
But, again, there is no need to rain on someone's parade like that.

Whizkey sounds like a idiot and forget his comments. Only people who think that they are better than they are and people who are jealous of your accomplishments would say something so rude. Once again congrats on such a great job and keep making us proud.

Interesting first post......you sound like a great guy. Kick many cats lately?
Poker is something different to everyone, money yes.....community yes.....challenge yes........
Why did you choose to demean a great accomplishment ?

BAH! forget that guy's comments - regardless how much you made, that was a great accomplishment. We all know that PS doesn't have the most profitable freerolls, but who gives a shit? They're also undoubtedly the hardest to conquer; they may not be great practice for big money tourneys, but they sure do give you great practice for patience and discipline.
Congrats AI

Very well put, Alon. My thoughts when I read the post you replied to would have gotten me booted from the forums for sure. Anyway, congrats and keep the run going!!

I was trying to think of how I wanted to reply to this without telling you to kiss my ass. Because you choose deposit and play higher stakes for fun, do not belittle me because I choose to try to build my BR from the bottom up. I realize that $1.10 is not much but I did manage to play better than 8700 people which I believe is something. So you can just.... well ... | | Read Entire Entry |

Hey Whizkeydick, oops sorry bill.
The whole point of the thread shows how many players Alon actually beat. It is an excellent achievement.
Maybe you should try it some time when you are not counting your money
Postings like yours are not appreciated (not by me anyway)

This was one of the Hubble freerolls at stars. There were 9000 entries. It was NLHE. The next tourney they listed was for O h/l limit. That is one game I don't think I can play. So if I unregister I will get a ticket for any 2nd round? That sounds good to me. I also got something like 188 tourney points. Don't know what they are good for.

Thanks and congrats to you too. If it was at Stars the 2nd round is always NL holdem. Also if you can't play next sunday you can unregister up to 2 hours in advance and get a ticket to play any 2nd round tourney you want.

Very nice accomplishment, even if it was only for $1.10. Congrats. To play against that many people just to get to the money is awesome. It means you played solid poker, dodged a ton of donks, and got a lucky here and there too.
Good Job.

The hard part wasn't transitioning from limit to NL but playing against two different types of players. The first tourney is a freeroll open to everyone so you get a lot of loose players and unexpected plays. The second tourney is top 27 finishers of all the big first round freerolls from the week and the quality of player usually ery good.

the experiecne you gained from those 2 tourneys are worth wellover your actual take. Also anytime you leave with more than you came in with you won.

They weren't both at the same time. I played the limit tourny first which qualified me for the NL tourney. The screen shot is some cut and paste work.

I think qulaifying for Round 2 and then placing in the money in Round 2 is a great accomplishment and you should be more happy about getting this far thasn the money you got from it.
When you play freerolls, you have to expect playing for hours and may not get anything from it. Keep that in mind, all of you, that the next time you play these kind of freerolls.
