Hmm believe it or not, it's opposite for me. For example I had 48 (3) in a recent razz tourney and was shortstacked I felt really bad when I crippled somebody who had a,3,4. However, earlier in the tournament I lost a huge pot against a big stack and a moron who was all in. I hit good on 4th and big stack folded. I have 2,3,5,6. Moron is holding 99Q2 and believe it or not outdraws me. I probably shouldn't feel bad about my beat when a much worse beat happened to me earlier but i did.

everyone always remember when they lose on the river but few remember the times they took down the pot on the river, thats how it is for me at least. always remember when i get screwed, but dont recall when i got lucky

Learn your odds, 4 outs X 2 =8

8% chance to hit.. now rounding up to 10% that gives you 10:1 to hit on 6:1 to call... Long term, making this call will make you lose much much more.

36% + scare cards they can bet!!!!!!!!! plus they can knock the table over if they are about to lose, so that counts for another 25%. i think you are the one behind now.

Wow, sounds like someone is on tilt about this. Was this a giving or a receiving?

Way too much to respond to in there that is fairly true but potentially extremely damaging to someones game. But I couldn't disagree more with much of this post. Maybe I'll come back after these two tourney's and explain myself better. That whole thing about playing styles and chasing is gnawing at me, though.

I hear a lot of people complain about the the river card. How they lost on the river ( I got rivered) and always get outdrawn.

This is what I think about it:

Everybody knows Texas Hold Em No Limit is played with 5 cards on the board if at least someone calls or everybody checks. If a player calls then there will be other cards on the board that all players can use. Those cards can give one of your opponents the best hand. Some people are surprised that this can happen and start complaining about their opponents play. Especially when someone else wins with the river card they are amazed by their opponents awful play and start to call him/her names.

I’ve got no respect whatsoever for someone who complains all day every week about how the river card beat him. If not for the first ten times you don’t understand that a river card can beat you then you need to lose a 100 times. Everyone has his own playing style. Everyone plays different. They won’t do the things you want them to ...
