The only thing that will affect anyone outside the US is how fast your tables fill up and the amount of donks playing.

It should mean nothing for anyone but American players..This only affects the money transfer from banks (they never let us do that anyway!),it doesn't make online poker "illegal" to US residents BUT the sites are bailing out anyway. ....The sites aren't closing down, they are just barring US residents from playing....I am really perplexed as to why though, since banks never let us use credit or debit cards and checks anyway. We can still use Neteller or one of the others so I don't know why the huge panic by them...One advantage to European players and others is,less competition! ........Not all sites have banned us yet,and the bill hasn't even been signed by Bush yet either,so I guess we (americans) have to just take it one day at a time as to where we can still play at.

This is the way I understand things. The bill that was passed will not allow financial institutions to accept payments from off shore gambling sites. So the problem isn't so much playing poker as it is getting paid if you want to cash out. Unfortunately, some sites are dropping US customers out of fear of what could happen. (at least that's my opinion) Someone here said that this should simply make Neteller a stronger option than before. As the member said, once the cash is sent to Neteller there is no way to know if that cash was used for Poker or to buy a watch.

Edit: This shouldn't effect you in any way Kerocous with the exception of (possibly) less players on your sites due to overreaction by some Poker sites. As for the effect on the Americans, I think it should just up the use of Neteller and increase traffic on the sites that will continue to allow Americans to play.

Simply put, England will not be affected by this. This is a thorn in the side for US players. It is NOT banning online poker. It specifically calls for US banks to not allow transfer of funds to online gambling sites. Poker is not specifically mentioned, but obviously those sites are impacted as well. However, third party sites like Neteller cannot be blocked as they deal with other things besides just poker/gambling sites. So if US players put money in Neteller then getting money onto and out of poker sites will be a non-issue.

The biggest kick to us in the US is that there are a bunch of sites out there (including Titan) that are running away with their tails between their legs. They are closing US player accounts because of all of this.

That's kind of the nutshell summary. There are some other small details I've missed that I'm sure others will be quick to point out.

Edit: guess we were typing and submitting around the same time.

ok, can someone sum up the whole deal with this 'ban' on money transfer or whatever it is. (In simple terms if possible) I'm in England, and use 3 sites, ictor chandler/32red and absolute, am I gonna be directly affected?
And more generally, what does it mean to all you CC'ers in the US of A?
If someone could fill me in I'd be grateful.
