Ultimate Bet and Absolute Poker Merger

Nick @ 8:46 pm —Filed under: General;
Just a few days after I blogged about a possible partypoker and 888 merger, news has surfaced about AbsolutePoker.com and UltimateBet.com merging as soon as Monday. The details remain to be seen, but they are set to release an announcement early next week which should outline what the plan will be for the two sites combined. AbsolutelyUltimatePoker maybe? It’ll be ery interesting to wait and see how they manage to merge two sets of websites, brands, software, tournaments, promotions, histories, accounts and funds all into one.
It was clear mergers were going to happen and I’m sure there will be more to come. This is the evolution of the online poker industry.

Indeed, ery exciting news. Will be interesting to see how things pan out.

Be interesting to see how they work it out if and when they merge the sites. The styles are radically different.

I agree with Bkry and Welly that Absolute Poker`s interface is much better.

What will they do about those of us who have accounts with both, I wonder ?

Here is the link I just found on pokernews.com

http://www.pokernews.com/news/2006/1...nce-merger.htm

I think it maybe time for me to research Absolute if this infact comes into effect. I really liked Ultimatebet's bonus structure and the fact it has no time limit on it. What I don't like is their lack of SnG ariety in anything not NLHE...

I have to agree with Jimbo, there are alot of just plain morons who play there, the ery last time I played there I sat at a table with a player who had a decent chip lead over the other players, and soon I found out how he got that lead.............he would go all-in at every hand preflop regardless of what he was holding.
and if you have ever met a player like that ( I'm pretty sure most have) you'll agree that it takes the fun out of the game.
As for the possible merge, hope it all works out for them.

Pokernews.com is reporting that Absolute Poker and Ultimate Bet may announce as soon as Monday that the 2 outfits are merging - although the poker operations will be separate for the time being. This would be a huge move by the 2 companies - I just hope they keep Absolute Poker's interface and bonus structure over Ultimatebet's.
