JOOSE, good luck man! You know you dont have to lock yourslef down to one city bro, why not tour the country? greyhound bus and a dufflebag bro. When you get to Orange County CA hit me up and we'll take care of the LA leg! theres like 15 casinos in our area that i regularly win at. after the tour you will have a better idea where you want to live. if you stayed with a CC buddy for a few days here and there you could scratch rent off the list of expenses.

anything that actually rents w/o a lease by the month will be too outrageous for me.

Live the dream man. It seems like you are in a good position to make this move with no attachments and nothing to really hold you down anywhere. If you don't do this now you will always wonder what if. I say go for it and let us all live icariously thru you since I think just about everybody on here would like to be able to do the same thing.
Just don't forget us after you win your 10th bracelet.

my life has been a giant fiasco after another for the past 6 years, nothing stresses me out anymore. my only worry is not being near any friends. and yea, i'm considering this ery seriously. unbridled spontenaiety is one of my character flaws. every couple months or so i force myself to do something completely outrageous.

I've played in both obviously, and there's positives to both places. I prefer Vegas, in terms of just the cities in general, not just poker. However, for poker and making a living off it, generally, in Vegas definitely a more ast range of people, and a lot of tourists just looking to give away money. But like mrsnake said above, lots of pros at almost every single level and limit, thinking the same thing you are, make a living off the tourists.
AC, there isn't as much tourists, but still there are some, and a lot on weekends. Definitely, not the quality of local players/semi-pros/pros there compared to Vegas.

I've been to and played in both AC and Vegas, but I haven't lived in either so I don't have a lot of experience but I'll share what i do have.
In Vegas there are alot of tourists that just want to have fun and play lots of hands, some don't know much about poker but what they see on TV, some think they are pros but aren't. But there are pros that feed off of them at almost every level.
In AC there are alot of locals that play all the time that play a ery tight straightforward game. A whole lot of senior citizens that play almost everyday.
Those are the basic things that I have noticed.
Good luck if you do decide to make the move, we are all rooting for you to do sell.

I've just heard that most people who give up their home games and try their luck in Vegas generally get destroyed, torn to pieces, and eaten for breakfast. So, er, good luck.

So I've decided I'm gonna try to do it. Pretty much the past 2 months boiled into a nutshell:
I got ****ed by my employer.
****ed by my close friend. Which led to:
****ed by my landlord.
So as of this morning I have no place to live.
So - after looking at my bank account I've decided that maybe a stint in egas isn't so impossible. I want to at least attempt to grind for a few weeks at the lower limit tables.
If anyone has any suggestions or words of advice, let me know. Tomorrow I'm taking my stuff to store at a friends and (maybe) preparing to head out?
Help...
