Some great advice here crunchy. Play money and real money are two totally different animals.
Eyep. Make sure you set yourself limits on how much per week/month/day you are willing to try and tame the beast. It comes easier for some...Good luck!

Don't play real money online! Pay your rent!
Seriously though, if you plan to play online, try to control yourself. Unlike live games, online poker is much more accessible, and you tend to play a lot, even at times when you should be doing something more important. Slap yourself if you go outside your bankroll to fund online poker play.

Also, people in play money go all in with crap against you. The majority of the time in real money, the person is not lying. They have the aces, they have trip 5s. They have... | | Read Entire Entry |

I was up $14,000 after playing for play money in only two weeks. Playing for real money is much harder. Start playing for small stakes and work your way up. Play only premium hands and do not chase. Read the information listed here:http://www.cardschat.com/poker/guide/
