Well I read the first half so far and sifted through the rest briefly. I am glad that I bought it but if you already know the ins and outs on PT (like you ChuckT) it might not tell you much that you don't already know.

The first part showed you how to set everything up. It showed you how to review sessions, playback hands, and what to look at to try and find/fix leaks in your game. This is what I read so far and was ery informative for me but probably doesn't give any knew info if you already use this.

The second part is all about player tracking. It shows you how to set it up to track players by observing and playing. The writer of the book said he opens up tables as many tables as it will observe before he goes to bed at night so he can get that much more info on people in his database (amazing).

It teaches you how to read all of the statistics and what they mean and how to use that info.

Probably the most useful thing that I learned that I can't wait to get set...

I read through the 'example chapter' on their site; looks pretty good to me actually. I don't have a credit card or paypal, so I'll have to wait a bit to set either up if I actually want to get it.

But ya, let us know how it is

I ordered it and just got my copy emailed to me. I haven't had a chance to read it yet but it looks ery informative. It touches on quite a bit and basically shows you everything about PT and how to use it all.

I'll give a report after I read it.

Where is the guide sold? I've never heard of it before. Just thought that the only resources for PT were the forum and just random small time guides like ours above.

Yeah, it's $20. I am going to get it. I figure it can only help. Why spend $55 on PT and not be able to use it to it's full capabilities right?

I'll let you know. I have no problems sharing it with others either if it will allow me to email it or something like that.

If you do end up getting the guide, please give us a "book report" and let us know how helpful you found it to be, or if you think others might want to purchase it.

I was thinking of getting it myself (it's still $20?)...

Has anyone who uses PT ordered and read the Poker Tracker Guide. If so, did you find it usefull? I ordered Poker Tracker last night and just looking through it and not being completely computer program sa y, I was completely overwhelmed by all of it's components. I figure I will probably need to order the guide, but I need it most to figure out how to set up PT and use it so it helps me the most. Will the guide help me to accomplish this?

To be honest, I don't even know where to start with getting it set up so it can help me the most. If anyone has advice or tips on this as well, I'd be happy to here them.

Poker tracker records your play and that of others that you have observed.

It doesn't provide you with odds, but tells you what hands you lost how much money on, or which ones you won the most on. How many hands you played, what posistion you played them in. How often you saw the flop, raised preflop, your aggression level both pre and post flop etc etc.

Check out www.pokertracker.com for more info, its basically a notekeeping system of players at arious sites, so you don't have to try and remember every username you have played against.

i am new to this site and was wondering what the heck you all are talking about. exactly what does this device or program do for you? if it generates odds then it really is a crutch because when you play in real life you have to know those odds off the top of your head. if it analyzes the entire situation and presents you with options then who is really playing??? i am just a firm believer in using your mind and playing as often as you can. that is how a poker player gets better.

One of the more useful areas is the way you can review your session and see what hands you have been losing the most money on.

Lets you see if you were just taking bad beats, or if you chased/bluffed at the wrong pot against the wrong opponent etc.

The hardest part in poker is cutting the leaks out rather than winning pots and this guide shows you how to use poker tracker to help you out.

I have a friend who uses it and they use it to there advantage....they love it! they say it is the most helpful thing online they have ever seen. these are stats and you cant hide them.

I've found that the stats in pokertracker can be overwhelming. I'll attach a link to another forum that breaks down these stats, clearly defines them and shows you how to determine your leaks. All in plain english with screen shots. Hope this helps someone.

I know that prima sites can be used with poker tracker, not tried using it with noble as I am too lazy to ask them to email my hand history to me.

As I usually fish on partypoker which is the best site to use it with, I am only really bothered about that.

I am using the trial ersion right now. It is not a program that tells you how to play. It analyzes your play so you can figure out your weaknesses and also keeps records on people you have played with before..so far i can see it will give me info that will really improve my game.

www.holdemassistant.com offers a beta of their poker analysis and guidance tool. It works real time in a separate window that analyses your current hand and offers (among other things) pre-flop advice and, ranking of your hand against whats possible considering the open table cards and win odds.

Holdemassistant doesnt support all sites, but the guy programming it is constantly adding to the field of supported poker rooms.

I am using this when i play Ladbrokes and Bet365 and especially in the fast paced play on Bet365 it is proving ery usefull (till i get annoyed about the tilt-style poker there and start making havoc).

The beta try out is free.

But for now well I know in the way for me to check how I am really doing is in my financial reports. Well finishing in the money in nearly 50% of the sit-n-gos I am in (up a good 65-70 dollars there). Not bad for usually playing $3.45-$7.75 arieties. And cash games where I really use to struggle and lose, well once I quit playing the morons on the low limit tables and moved up to a more sensible level, seems to be more profitable.

I know I don't always make the right play and even when I do sometimes I will be unlucky. But I know from around Feburary 17th until today being March 26th. I am up ery close to 200 dollars. Not bad for not playing in any really big tourneys, or overly expensive games. As the saying goes, the proof is in the pudding.

I am guessing that some of you have used poker tracker, or still are using it.

Personally there is a lot too it that I don't really use and take advantage of.

Now I havn't myself got this yet, but probably will after I get paid in a couple of weeks, depending on how the cashflow goes.

I have heard good things about this ebook though and it should open up poker tracker and increase your earnings. Hell its only $20 so not like its going to break the bank.

http://www.pokertrackerguide.com/

I'll post a review of it when I have aquired a copy myself. Look for this in the articles section in a few weeks time.
