Getting another monitor soon though!
I use GT+ and just pay alot of attention to all the big pots and all the showdowns where there was a fair amount of betting. Then i look at the hand histories and note down anything i need to know. | | Static Link |
| Posted by: BubbleBoy at May 27, 2007, 5:31 pm | | Topic: Multitabling strategies Forum: Bonus Whores | fullring I play 9 tables on stars and another 5 on ongame
SH I play 8 total

| Posted by: Sigurd at May 14, 2007, 7:27 pm | | Topic: Multitabling strategies Forum: Bonus Whores | Shorthanded NL: 3-6 tables, depending on the players. If there are a bunch of 25/17/3 players I end up playing less tables than when the tables are populated by 50/30/2 guys.
Full ring NL: 8-12 tables, depending on the network. | | Static Link |

Thats the point, tighter you play, easier it is to multi. It is especially suited to limit play for large numbers because tight in full ring limit is often a good profitable strategy no matter who your playing. The money you miss from reads isn't as significant as in nl. | | Static Link |

| Posted by: Pinos at May 14, 2007, 5:03 pm | | Topic: Multitabling strategies Forum: Bonus Whores | To me, its all about the software... i can play max 5 at prima because if i play mini view i cannot use GT+/PO and then i won't know what does that pf raise means, at stars i USED to play 6 but i won't do more than 4 since i've lost a LOT, like a "too much OMG, OMG, OMFG i cannot belive it, this is fucking sick" kinda lot.
At Cake i can play 2 max, once i played 4 and ended up loosing more than in Stars but at a higher level.
At Paradise 4 max
IPoker 4 max but never tried more
Party same as stars but without the loosing thing
I used to play up to 8 at ongame but i played very tight | | Static Link |
| Posted by: daraider at May 14, 2007, 3:57 pm | | Topic: Multitabling strategies Forum: Bonus Whores | I generally play 3-4 (im sure i could play 5 but im alway have people im'ing me etc. I don't use pt or hud anymore. I mainly play 6max nl.
I think it depends on the stakes and amount of players at the table to how many you can play. I could easily play 8+ 08b limit full tables due to my style of play, the slow hand rate and that you can easily make a profit by just playinig your hands. | | Static Link |
| Posted by: andrew26 at May 14, 2007, 2:39 pm | | Topic: Multitabling strategies Forum: Bonus Whores | Anything less than 4 tables and I get bored. Anything more and I occasionally have panic attacks.
I do listen to music while I play, usually on my ipod.
I agree with that NOOB mod guy that a HUD is invaluable in determining how to make decisions while multitabling. I use PAHUD. If a guy with a mouse or rock icon checkraises you all in on the turn, you can be reasonably sure your TPTK is no good.
Shouldn't this thread be under Poker Strategy?

A HUD basically just puts a players stats on the table so that you can get a general idea of how they play based on their VP$IP, PFR, AF, etc.
I also make sure to take notes on players that will help me make up my mind on any big hands that come up.
Other than that you just need to focus. Don't watch TV, don't listen to music, don't talk on IM, otherwise you'll be out of your game and it'll hurt your winrate.
I agree with what AlanN said although I know for a fact that he does NOT follow any of his own advice!

I use gametime+ as well. I play 3-4 tables most of the time, I find if I add more than that I get too tight, miss opportunities, and make more misreads.

I know I see a big skill drop off going from 2 tables to 4 tables. I think I play losing poker at 5+ tables, though some folks can do it without a problem.

Can you possibly pay attention to the players, or is it strictly mechanical based on your cards, and to a lesser extent, position. After the flop, do you play equally mechanically?
Thanks.
(I added the poll afterwards out of curiousity.)
