California Gold Rush, - 1848-1849
Millions of dollars have been taken out of California recently! Not by the gold miners, but by those merchants supplying those miners with tools, food and clothing.
The only difference I see these days in the Poker Boom, is that the food clothing and tools has been replaced with books, articles, and some knowledge.

Wow can't believe what I'm reading here. The book wasn't at all about rigged sites, or conspiracy. In fact the book recommends sticking to tournaments, and satellites to get into them. Because of all the software support players can use online, playing cash games online become a much harder task. He said sites are not rigged and are in fact investing millions trying to stop software programs, and bots. The book is a good read for the novice player to understand exactly what he is playing against. There are tons of bad players online, and software support lets them keep the playing field even for longer periods of time which in turn make cash games much harder to overcome. Along with the amount of money most players can risk, they're forced to play against players with deep pockets that can eventually wear you down. Why he suggests cash games for live play.

Its great fun, brings together many different people from many walks of life who would probably never even met let alone spoke to but now count as good friends....
I find the camaraderie with people all over the world a major bonus... I have friends in Canada, UK, Germany, Spain and all over the US.... and I still don't know the names of the people that live behind me
I'll not be reading this book - instead I might pick up Gordon's in an effort to improve my play. I don't need to listen to the bad beat whinners and the online poker is rigged bunch. I keep a spreadsheet - I know I'm a profitable player Didn't realize I was in such an elite group tho

'What people are not saying about poker'
Its great fun, brings together many different people from many walks of life who would probably never even met let alone spoke to but now count as good friends.
Teaches and empowers people at different levels, can give hours of fun at a low cost (even sometimes free).
Can help people who had no ambition something to aim towards and improve themselves.
The Amazon Editorial seems to me suggest the book is talking about what everyone else is saying about poker.
Look around the forums (surely the authors best researching grounds IMO) and many posts will cover the same ground, bad beats, rigged etc...
Luck skill, skill luck,
chicken or egg, egg or chicken ?

Guess you must be one of the 12% in that select lucky group. Also find it interesting that people can make assumptions, and give opinions, without reading the damn thing.

I mentioned this book "What no one else is saying about online poker" in a couple of posts before, yet didn't hear much feed back about it. Although it's not about teaching you how to play poker, I found it ery interesting and accurate about the facts while playing online poker. I also felt it answered many of the threads I read on this forum. It is rated 8th out of 330 online poker books being sold on Amazon. Has anyone read this yet? And if so, what did you think?
