I like reading printed magazines too... it's a break from looking at the computer screen!
The two I get are Card Player and Bluff, and I like both. Card Player is more straightforward, while Bluff is edgier and more oriented toward younger players. I believe Card Player has several international editions as well.

I'm getting more and more interested in poker everyday so after starting reading some books I think that it might be a good idea to get a poker magazine subscription.
Here in Argentina poker getting something related to poker it's too hard, and in this way i will have some poker data plus articles and news from the world of poker.
I know that information can be found on the internet but I enjoy reading printed things (may sound weird)
anyway I wanted to know if you read poker magazines, which ones you read and which one its the best in your opinion

Apparently the first two issues were littered with errors due to a combination of inexperiance and a ery small publishing team. Thats changed now
Like Golf? Then buy "Golf Pages," the only golf magazine in the UK to be officially backed by the "PGA." (Shamless plug over )

I bought one issue (maybe the first?). One of the articles printed the same 3 paragraphs twice by mistake. That was all I needed to know .
Would he do an article about Cardschat? Then I might be persuaded
(n.b. that explains Nick's "i hear it's pretty good" comment?)

UK magazines - as starfall said, Flush is rubbish (glossy Casino puff pieces). Pokerplayer is .good - can be read in 30 mins, but is . cheap if you subscribe. Inside Edge is the best, but it is Horse / Sports focused with a small (but .good) section on Poker.

That's supposed to read "what they think" not 'the thin' I tried to edit my post, but for some reason, it didn't take.

WOW! I didn't think there were that many mags on poker out there. I'll pick up one or two more, but I can't see myself reading everyone before deciding on one. I heard some real good things about Bluff from other people I've spoken to. Since I have already read it and liked it, I may just go with Bluff. I'm kinda lazy. I like it when other people do the research and tell me what the thin. . I will try to check out some others though. Thanks again all.

Got a copy of Flush, didn't rate it, didn't buy it again. Maybe it's improved.
Poker Player magazine has plenty of articles covering strategies, tournaments, interviews, etc. Good range of bits and pieces, and with a good balance between solid advice and irreverent touches to lighten it up.
There's also the WPT magazine now, which was also OK, but a bit too focussed on hyping and discussing their tournaments rather than being a well-rounded coverage of the poker scene.
Inside Edge I haven't read - maybe I'll have to pick up a copy.
Online Gambler I think sometimes recycles old articles from Poker Player, but it's still worth a look since it's free with other mags.

card player i like.....
all-in i suscribe to, for no other reason than i saw a promo "buy this mag, get 1 year suscription free".... and a bargain hunter i am. i bought the magazine... and sure enough, 4 months later, they sent me another :-p
Bluff is entertaining... not really insightful imo, but its entertaining, gives you a feel for players outside of poker..
but cardplayer hands down is my favorite.... beautiful magazine.

Thanks for the info. Nick, I am not from the UK. I live in NY. And DESSERTLADY, I saw that Mike Carro write for Bluff too. I have read CP too, but it wasn't my favorite. I liked Bluff, but I will check out others you have mentioned. Thanks.

Hi HLDMLVR and welcome to the forum.
I doubt you're from the UK but if you are there are a few magazines that are poker orientated: 1) Flush - it's new but I hear it's pretty good 2) Inside Edge - this has a ery solid reputation 3) Online Gambler - it comes free with magazines like T3 or .NET mag, it's shorter but has some ery nice articles in.

I also like "Poker Pro" magazine. More entertainment than an insider or strategy mag, though it has it all. It's been around less than a year. The subscription price is still high, though.

Hi all, I am new to this forum. I was wondering what poker mags you might be reading. So far I have read Card Player and Bluff. Out of the 2 of them, I thought Bluff was better. I would like to know what others are reading so that I can check them out. Also does anyone else here read Bluff and what you think about it. I want to subscribe to one, so I appreciate any input. Thanks.

Hi - Thanks for the feedback so far - I'm glad to see that Card Player is liked. And Coach, thanks for the tip on checking the casinos. I'll ask at the ones around here.

Hey Michelle, if you go to the casino a lot, some of the local casinos give out magazines for free. You might not have to subscribe to a magazine if you do go to your local casino. I know in Atlantic City, at the Taj Mahal, they give Bluff mags for free and at Vegas, at the Mirage and Belagio, they give out Card Player for free. There are many more casinos that give out free mags...But like you I like Card Player overall....good luck on your search...
