Hehe thanks a lot again .. a couple of people who were replying to my thread were just bashing me, or at least i felt like that, however you provided constructive criticism and a good analysis of the situation. Highly appreciate it. I really feel comfortable having 4 buyins for each table I play in as I have never lost more than 3 full buy ins consecutively. However, I will take your advice and everyone else's and stick to lower stakes or maybe even stick to sit and goes which have ery small risk attached to them in comparison to cash games. Another point I would like to make is that i am a ery tight, disciplined player on a poker table and tilt never affects my poker play - what usually happens is that i smash my laptop shut, get a drink, call a friend and start ranting hehe.. but the blackjack bullshit on Absolute Poker and Ultimatebet really killed me.. I really hate that form of gambling especially online where the money is just NUMBERs.. About MTT's .. i really hate them - ariance in MTTs is HUGE. ... | | Read Entire Entry |

Family is a treasure that often is taken for granted, it can be a glittering jewel if you can step back and look upon it with perspective. Enjoy your time with your kinfolk.
Another poster mentioned above "scared money", you might wait until AFTER your family outing for the right mindset. A big loss like yours effects the mind is deep subconscious ways. Your bankroll management may still be too loose but ultimately it has to be your comfort level that defines what that is. Don't be afraid to drop levels and concentrate on single games.
Personally I play MTT's fairly exclusively I get more bang for the buck. Impatience and bad bankroll management is a lethal combination, dreams are diversions, reality smacks you up side the head, LOL
Good luck and have a good trip with the family.

Thanks a lot mrdaman! Really appreciate your long, helpful advice. I cannot find a job for 2 weeks only .. Im travelling on the 5th of august with my family so i as i said a job is not the option. What is the option is playing with discipline and self control as you said. I never said im 'bullet proof', but with dedication and patience, things can be good. I've over exaggerated my 'self control' part I think, its not that bad. Now as for chasing my 'loses', im not going to do that. Instead im going to go with a different mindset. That is, play my game and whatever I win is good. If I go with the mindset of 'chasing' losses, I know im going broke. What im going to do is scoop down a level to the 50 tables, deposit 600, and play on one cash table only while multi tabling sng's. I think that would be the most 'risk-free' option. I would be clearing the bonus on Full Tilt Poker (as i dont have an account there already) and at the same time having fun and making money. Again, thanks a lot for your advice sir... | | Read Entire Entry |

Never play with what you can't afford to lose. Let me say that again:
Never play with what you can't afford to lose!
Your young and it's natural to feel invincible, but trust me and a lot of the other people here when we tell you, you are not bullet proof
Chasing lost money 99% of the time will only get you further in the hole. Just by saying "i really dont know how to control it" is a useful admission. Recognize your weakness and work on strengthening it.
Of all the skills in poker, knowing what starting hands to play, knowing how to read tells, using position, knowing how and when to change gears, the differences between TAG and LAG and bankroll management the most important skill of them all is self-control.
The definition of crazy is repeating something over and over, expecting a different result. CardsChat is a GREAT community, you will find a lot of good advice around here, self-control, discipline and bankroll management can make you a winning ... | | Read Entire Entry |

Everybody here used to go on tilt as a noob I should imagine but now they have learnt that its not such a big deal!
If you feel yourself getting aggertated, annoyed or impatient then go get a drink, lay down, take a short stroll, get some fresh air - something to clear your mind.
Anything to calm you down, because in a calm state you can win faster - for example, an hour or so ago I lost my $10 at a 5/10c table in a bluff (although the guy only called with an Ace high - not sure if it was a donks move or good call yet lol) - I carried on at the same table, without going on tilt, and it didn't take long to make another $10!
But going to Blackjack is awful mate - its not rigged but the game is designed to give the dealer an advantage! Its not an easy money making technique!!
Maybe you can lower your table buyins for a while until you get of Tilt.
Thing is with playing so much as to win loads of money - you may get tired and start messing up! You also cant bank on winnin... | | Read Entire Entry |

Actually, we do appreciate some attempt at proper sentence/paragraph structure around these parts. We don't expect perfect grammar, but throwing in some punctuation and paragraphs in the right places makes it easier on the eyes, and thus easier to read.

Thanks for your advice.. getting a job at the moment is not a possibility.. i will be travelling with my parents to the states coz of medical reasons for a family member.. and thats like in a couple of weeks. Yes, i will get a job when im back. I've always had a part time job in the computer industry, gives me experience for when i graduate and extra money. I have no plans whatsoever to do poker for a living in the future. i want my degree and a proper career - poker is too risky and it would be, after all, a boring life playing cards all day. Not my thing, Maybe playing around 10-20 $10 sng's a day would be better idea to build my bankroll again? How much would the average return from that be? ive played sngs before and i won a lot of them, but ive only played around 200 sngs overall so i dont think thats enough to give me a good picture of the expected return.

Please read this post as it will explain all you need about bankroll management and multi-tabling: Bankroll Management.
But in all seriousness, I'd get a job as playing poker online for the same amount as you would get if you had a real job is, at least IMHO, detrimental to your game and life in general. You'll get bored more easily and you'll only think about poker: not good when you have money problems and have had a serious tilt session recently.

You normally need at least 20 buy-ins if you plan on playing a certain limit (this applies to NL). Some even recommend as much as 50 to 100 if you plan on making money from poker (turning pro at the at max 100 would thus require at least 2000, but more realisticaly 3000 to 5000$). 10 buy-ins swing do happen and what will you do then ?
You can play 100 max with 1k behind, but if you plan on multitabling, you'll risk 30-50% of your BR at any given time. Ridiculous.

Why would i be underrolled with 1k on $100 buy ins? thats 10 buy ins.. ive never lost more than 3 full buy ins consecutively.. even on my worst runs. Also, the people who you say cant make $100/day playing higher stakes probably dont have enough time.. if you have 3 tables and 6 hours a day, while averaging 5BB/hour on each NL table (which isnt that great) then thats $90 in a day, add to that rakeback and sign up bonus for the first 40k hands, should be okay. What do you not agree with?

Tough love: a lot of players on here never tilt money on blackjack and they play higher stakes than you (and are properly rolled to play them). We don't see them making a lot of money from poker. You're better off getting a job and working like everyone else. Not ery glam, but when you're in the hole with bills to pay and have trouble managing your BR (plus you bank account), steady income should be and is a must.
You'll be playing underolled with scared money. You can't win playing like this, period, unless you always land the softest of tables at medium stakes, wich just won't happen online.

My only success with online blackjack was when Absolute Poker sent me a free $10 in the mail and i went and turned that into $100 with blackjack. I thought I was on a roll and then all of a sudden I was down to $20, having 20's and the dealer would get 21's on like 3 or 4 cards. It fluctuates insanely and I dont recommend playing it. I took the rest of that $20 and brought it up to $50 and cashed out immediately.....bc i always just seemed to get screwed on Absolute Poker

blackjack is tough to beat in a damn casino much less an online one. I lost $200 in about 10 min it was the craziest thing I've ever seen. The rate at which you can lose in blackjack is ridiculous. I recommend 3 card poker... man did I fall in love with that game.

I have a close friend who lost $100,000.000 in one sitting playing BlackJack after getting into an argument with his girlfriend..
My friend could (kind of) afford it, not really considering $100,000 was about 1/6th of his BR, I think...
Black Jack is an evil game, I don't even mess with it.

I have done this a few times myself at poker.com before, its really sad.
I used to bet like $10 then if i lost that i would bet $20 or $30, and i really had no strategy at all, the only thing i knew about blackjack was how to play. I lost soooooooooooooo much playing blackjack!!
True, you shouldnt play blackjack when you are on tilt, but my advice is dont play it at all.
Everyone stay away, in the end you will lose or break even at best!!

Sounds like you have a gambling problem, friend. I know it`s not the advice you are looking for, but I would think seriously about getting a job and using your summer to earn money to recoup your losses.
Playing with money you can`t afford to lose to try and get even is a dangerous road to travel. Plenty of guys who went that way before you wound up living on a park bench.

First things first, email the site and see if they can ban you from playing the blackjack there. If they can't, then I suggest you cash everything out from that site and uninstall it from your computer.
Switch over to a site that doesn't offer blackjack, you don't want that temptation. Full Tilt offers rakeback and doesn't have blackjack, maybe you should look into moving your money over there. Anyway if you have a problem with tilting money away on Blackjack, then DON'T play on a site that offers it, period. The bad beats are going to come anywhere, it's inevitable. Just get you money in right, manage your bankroll correctly, and DON'T play when tilting. If you start to tilt take a break.
Also read the article shinedown posted and follow it.

ive also done this before, lost about 1k betweem poker and blackjack. well actially 1800, 800 of which was winnings.
i suggest when you have the money you can afford to lose, take 100, play at a blackjack table and play 5 dollars a hand usuing proper blackjack strategy. AND QUIT WHEN YOU WIN 30 DOLLARS! dont keep playing. i have done this and have made 60 in two sittings, and if i lose my 100, thats ok because i am perfectly prepared to lose it.

Do not play online Blackjack period and if you tilt so bad, and have no control over it, then maybe you have a problem.
It looks to me if your getting beat by a couple FHs, then may I suggest that you stop chasing the flushes and straights when the board is paired.
As for chasing your losses, may I suggest the first thing you do is take a couple days off from playing poker, give yourself a cooldown period and come back refreshed with a clear mind before you re-deposit on any sites.

Hi.. well im a new member on the site.. ive blown my rolls TWICE just coz of a tilt rampage that made me play blackjack like an idiot and lose over 3k.. 1k from poker winnings and 2k from my own money.. just coz i got my str8/flush beaten by a full house on the river, i tilt and go crazy playing blackjack with big money.. 100-200 a hand.. VERY BAD IDEA.. i really dont know how to control it.. now i have around 1.4k in my bank acc (from 3.5k) which i need for my next yr's study so i really need to make those 2k back. I need someone to help me sort out my roll.. i can afford to put around 800 (to max the 25% reload bonus at Absolute Poker) is it enough to multi table on $0.5/1 tables? say around 2-3 tables or should i build my roll first to something bigger? I can play around 6 hours a day.. got nothign to do except eat, sleep, party, drink and play poker till the end of the summer lol. I signed up to rakeback so hopefully will be generating $50 a day from that.. How much do you figure I can make/hour per ta... | | Read Entire Entry |
