I had received a Visa gift card, and it worked for a deposit on Pokerstars. I checked, and you can get a $100 card for about $105 (there is a fee) so don't know if thats cheaper than the other methods. Also don't know if it works on other sites, though I may try Full Tilt and will let you know.

Ha - you shouldn't advertise that so freely. You might have someone like me reading this who works in fraud for Chase and has the ability to go in the system and block those from going through.
(but I won't lol)
It is either a slip-up or Fulltilt is using the wrong merchant code - somebody will catch it sooner or later, meanwhile my lips are sealed....

Hi all,
Casinos and poker rooms were being denied by banks, because americans make up a lot of the casinos and poker rooms revenue a lot decided to find ways around this so what they do is not show up as gambling related which is why the card goes through on many sites. If it says anything gambling related like egaming then the bank will refuse it.
One casino even told me they would bill it as onlineopportunities, others will show something completely unrelated to gambling like world wide enterprises etc...
That's why your bank card will go through at some poker rooms, ultimate bet is another which will take your card.

For Canadian players I see that there is a deposit option on PS for Debit. Does any1 know if this requires signing up for any extra programs...or do you just use your pin # / account #? Also does the account type matter?..i.e savings or chequeing?
Thanks.

No problem w/ the site, in fact it's recently been spruced up. It's been several weeks now they haven't been accepting new apps. Don't know if that's permanent or what.

Hi all,
I used epassporte once last month as an experiment and it works fine, trouble is it takes a full 7 business days (that's excluding weekends) for the money to get from your bank into your epassporte account, a lot of places are taking epassporte now including fulltilt and ultimatebet and it does seem ery popular. I phoned epassporte and there isn't a quicker way to fund this account, apparently it's policy to wait the 7 business days. My guess is you'll have to wait just as long for any withdrawal to hit your account also.
My wife made a deposit into bodog using a prepaid credit card called Ice, and I also now know that I can use my bank card to deposit into ultimate bet as that is a mastercard, the reason this works is because ultimate bet doesn't bill it as anything gaming related, that is the main point when using a credit card or debit card, you should phone the poker room or casino beforehand and ask them what it shows up as.

I don't remember if I tried to use my debit card or not - I might try to use it today to see if the additional charge shows up. Both of my transactions were with a credit card. Sounds like maybe that is the difference.

Yea - that is what I thought I was paying. I put $200 in and it said the total was $208.50. I work for a credit card company and found out paytru is getting auto blocked by most of them so I thought I better put another $200 in. This was one week later - all of my credit cards declined including the first one I had used, except for one card. I put an additional $200 in with that one and again it said $208.50. When I got my statements there was an additional $10 charge for each the 2 transactions.

Only 40.50 to load $1,000.00 onto paytru with direct debit from bank account. No charge to transfer to poker stars, or to withdraw from poker stars. Only 2.50 fee to withdraw $500.00 from paytru at ATM machine. Withdrawal fees a good problem. Think poker stars is indirectly linked to Paytru. Maybe it'll last allot longer if thats true.

It works - but it is not cheap. (and credit card companies that will allow paytru charges to go through are dropping off like flies, it won't work for much longer)

for canadians the best way to deposit is instadebit or other canadian debit deposit methods, you dont need to sign up with anyone so there's no real middle man, withdrawing is a differnt story though.

Exchange rates ary a bit. As far as Neteller fees there really aren't any. I keep almost my entire bankroll in Neteller as apposed to the sites. I get attitude from some sites because they want you to leave the money with them but with being a yank I really feel it is just a safer bet to keep the roll in Neteller and make deposits as needed.

Can anyone confirm whether you end up getting hit by currency conversion with Neteller - I've recently starting using a Neteller account (in £ sterling), and the payments in dollars into Neteller seem to have been at approx 1.78 dollars to the pound, while outgoing was 1.73, which would lose about 3% in a round trip - does anyone else have any information about this?
