Hi Myar
Thanks for reply. You reminded me of a thought I often get when using H.I;
without it I would be lost, which is worrying because when I`m up against Helmuth and that lot in the WSOP in 5 years time I`ll be on my own!
Dependency on H.I clinics will need to be opened at some stage probably.
Good luck

I make good use of the note feature though in the clients, as its alot easier to forget a name than a face. I wouldn't use an aid live, so just dont use one ery often online either. Usually use them when I am playing stakes above what I normally play, as then I need all the help I can get.

In terms of the odds calculator, I look at my side of the equation only - its helpful to remind me the odds of hitting a straight, flush etc. More than once it has shown me a double gutshot straight draw that I didnt realise was there. The rest of the info the program supplies I pretty much ignore. I think paying too much attention to 'win odds' is a bit silly, as the poker program doesnt know your opponents hands.

Hi dj
Thanks for the nice things you said about my review.
I can assure you I am in no way affilliated with H.I.
As explained in the review I did it because there are no independent reviews for it anywhere (that I could find) and I wanted to write something for this forum and was determined to do a fair and balanced review.
I can see why you may think that I am affillated but if the program was crap I would of said so, I assure you.
I would also like to add as a footnote to the review that I have just discovered that the H.I licence key is linked to the computer or O.S so if you get a new computer you have to e-mail them for a new key, which I did, luckily they are ery quick replying and no hassle.
Yes, once H.I is running you do not need to do anything, it attaches itself to your table and works automatically. There is also a mini-mode if required, which is just a small toolbar which I should of mentioned too.
Good luck,
Rindhoops

As reviews go, that is top notch. So good in fact I have a hard time figuring out why you would do it if you were not somehow involved with HI. Not meant to accuse you of anything, though it does look that way. You should probably offer it (after polishing up the syntax a wee bit) to HI for mega bucks, and let them use it in magazine ads.
I have no program to help me, and understand Poker Tracker is the current king. There has been some mention lately of a newer program to challenge PT, and I don't think it is HI. But it's good to see there may be some competition to drive the prices down.
You might add that once running, no further input is necessary, that the program automatically gets the info from the screen, and updates it instantly. Assuming of course that is the case.
For most U.S. players, we probably already have all the US friendly sites loaded so would be unable to avail ourselves of the 'free after xxx raked hands' thing.
At any rate, thanks for the good ... | | Read Entire Entry |

Thanks Egon, took a while, but was so impressed how it improved my game
and the lack of a real review on the Net thought might be useful.

Holdem Indicator V1.2.8 review
By Rindhoops. July 2007
First I would like to point out that I am not connected with HI (Holdem Indicator)
in any way and that I am a beginner to poker (7 weeks playing @ roughly
8 hours a day & counting). So this review is from the perspective of a beginner.
Getting a licence:
I was nearly put off by the sales pitch claiming HI is totally free, which is nearly true.
You can either buy it $69.95 (that’s not free!) or sign up for one of their affiliate Poker
rooms (that sounds free?) but you must deposit $50 minimum and play 200 raked hands.
Note: The exception to the $50 minimum is with Party Poker at $25, sadly I already had an
account there.
I guess if you was going to sign up to one of their affiliates anyway then it would be a
good deal (that’s free!) but if not, you at least have a good chance to win your
money back, especially as you get a bonus on your deposit at most Poker rooms. | | Read Entire Entry |
