Everyone within the entire internet gambling industry is starting to take notice today of how the Bodog.com domain name hijacking applies to their businesses. No matter if you are an operator or an affiliate, everyone needs to realize that what happened to Calvin Ayre and Bodog Entertainment can happen to any other internet gambling operator.
Point-Spreads.com has spoken to several operators that have expressed their concern over the incident. While most of his competitors are usually overjoyed in his misery, all that we have spoken to have been nothing but supportive of the situation Ayre finds himself in after his prized domain name was redirected due to a default judgment against his company for $48 million dollars.
"We are watching what happens with the Bodog domain name case ery closely," stated a Bodog competitor. "What happened to Calvin can happen to anyone in the internet gambling industry and our legal team is already advising us on how we should proceed to pre... | | Read Entire Entry |

Hi all,
Just found this regarding bodog and the domain issue:
Bodog Domain Move Due to Disputed Patent-Case Judgment
August 29, 2007
Amy Calistri
More light has been shed on Bodog's recent difficulties, resulting in their mid-week URL change. On Tuesday, Bodog's owner Calvin Ayre's disclosed that the company was involved in a dispute relative to their domain name (www.bodog.com) ownership, which had spilled over to DNS performance issues. Today it was learned that the dispute actually involves a case of patent infringement brought forward by 1st Technology Inc.
In a lawsuit filed in the state of Nevada, 1st Technology alleged that Bodog's software infringed on their patents filed in the US and elsewhere in the world. Bodog apparently failed to appear in court to answer the allegations and a default judgment was issued against them on
August 1, 2007. Bodog has been ordered to pay $49 million in damages. Also included in the judgment was the removal of all... | | Read Entire Entry |

Here's what I found on their website.....
Welcome to the new (temporary) Bodog. As you may know by now, Bodog.com is experiencing a technical issue impacting our players' ability to access our website.
This is the result of a legal dispute over the ownership of the Bodog.com domain name. We are fighting this dispute. We are confident that we will win, but until all is settled, I do not want our battle to interrupt your play.
So, I present you with newbodog.com. You won't notice ery many changes: same website, same brand, same product, and same service. Just a new domain name.
We are working to resolve any remaining issues on the temporary site as soon as possible, and fully expect to have our original site back up shortly.
I sincerely apologize if you were affected by our interruption and assure you that I will update you soon.
Regards,
Calvin Ayre
Sounds like somethings up to me...anyone else?

You've got to be kidding me.....they change their software completely on the fly like that? I started the previous thread, it has been out since yesterday afternoon...I was in a tournament. So you're saying we have to download new software....Interesting. I have called them twice and haven't got that response, but I will try it.

As of yesterday noon, I can't seem to access bodog's software because of some connection problem. However all my other online applications are working just fine, with the exception of bodog. In addition, i can't access their website. I'm getting a "Server not found" both on Firefox and Internet Explorer.
Please tell me it's now just me.
