Lol.
Guy didn't have much of a day of it yesterday. 3 straights within 17 hands being beaten by better straights on the river, and his full house being beaten by an inferior full house.
Someone's pants are on fire I think!

I notice in your post that you mention A/K several times. That hand is usually the death of me. Yes, it's a great starting hand, but always remember that it's a drawing hand. Pocket 2s are ahead of A/K before the flop. Of course, when AK draws out on 3s as you talked about, it's not really a bad beat so much as it is losing a race.
It's tough to be on the losing end of so many races so close together, but like others have suggested you just need to keep studying, keep learning, and keep trying.
Good luck.

look again its a full house against quad kings!
These things happen and we all love to tell our bad beats or where the other guy sucks out on a really lousy play. This is poker and it happens.
Full tilt I find is notorious for letting the underdog win and have had strong hands beaten by absolute rubbish. Even if I played those hands well and get beaten what can you do but learn from the experience. Any two cards can win but knowing when you are ahead and playing to the good odds you will win over a long period of time.
Just keep grinding away and playing your own game. Read as much as possible and plat the odds

lol, you'd think AAAKK was a fairly decent hand!
but thats always going to happen. surely ur on the right track. a plan and good play must win over recklessness and luck in the long run.

Bad runs happen, bad beats happen, and you often lose in race situations. Discipline can't overcome these facts over short term, and that's all part of the game. You dwell on the instances where you lose, but what about the ones you win? When you beat a field of 1684, don't tell me you didn't win at least one or two hands where you went in behind and autdrew other players. If you reflect back on it, you know this to be true. What goes around comes around., and that part of poker talent and diiscipline can't fix. Keep playing your A game, and if you're as good as you seem to think, you will come out of dry spells and be fine.
If you let circumstances get you down, take some time away from the tables. As JD suggested, give our articles section some serious study, reflect on ways to apply what you learn to fixing holes in your game. Because believe me, if you approach them with an open mind, you will learn something, and no matter how good you are, or think you are, you have some holes in your gam... | | Read Entire Entry |

like pocket 3s for instance...never call all in with em just because the raiser is female.

You have the young part right.
You need to learn a bit more about the game, don't be so hard on yourself, and just learn more about the game. If you had more experience you would know that what you went through isn't all that unusual (a couple of the hands above were essentially coinflips, and if you can't handle losing those, you should really reevalute your mindset while playing poker).

It sounds like you've had a rough run of it lately. A few things I would suggest to start you off here:
1) See our Strategy Articles.
2) Start reading and posting in the hand analysis sections. But he sure to post actual hand histories so that others can provide proper feedback with all the needed info at hand.
3) Stick around here and be active in the poker discussions in general and be open to advice. Your game will definitely improve.
There's definitely more, but that's good to start with. Oh, and welcome to the forum.

guys i play on full tilt...im pretty good
i started out when i was young'n' on betmill...it shut down...i went to bodog, party poker, doyles room...
on party poker i won a 5 dollar nl with 1684 ppl in it...i've mainly played low stakes until i turned 21.
like i said now im on full tilt. and i have been running horrible i mean 3 tournies in one night
i had ace king ...they had low pocket pairs ...lost everyone of them
then the next tourney all in pre flop i had qq ...he had ak ...i lost
last night i had 33 ....8 ppl at the table limped in...it came 3 j j .....knew sum1 had to have a jack and i could get them to put me all in ...exactly what happened...he had king jack ...next card king
then today in a cash game...i was sittin around folding bs hands for about a half hour...before i got queens....made a 3 times the blind raise....then sum1 re raised...and a call...i was comfortable going all in and did...the flop comes 4 J 5 rainbow....both otheres go al... | | Read Entire Entry |
