Forget the true odds. I get that flop about 3 times per hour, its almost a guarantee if you have AK. Sounds like easy money to me .

What site is this btw?

(and £50 = $100).

Actually I wasn't, if you play 23,000 hands, the odds are greater than 50% that you will see that 1 in 33,150.

(1-(1/33150))^23000 = .49966 < .5

The odds of that flop NOT coming up 23000 in a row (meaning you don't win any of those 23,000 times) is 49.966% meaning you win 50.03% of the time.

That's 7667 hands per day, so if you play 24 hours a day, you just have to play 320 hands per hour, easy if you want to multi-table. I don't know how much 50 pounds is in American currency, but you could 9-table 24/7 for 3 days and probably have close to a 75% chance of winning, because 9-tabling puts you over 320 hands per hour. And since it's 50 pounds regardless of stakes, just sit in on the lowest stakes they offer

fascinating reading, but is it relevant? its a thread about a promotion, not a place for annoying beats.

Sorry if that sounds really cynical, it's not meant to.

This is a promotion i received from a site

This Friday, Saturday and Sunday, if 8-4-6 suited appears on the flop (in that order!) while you’re playing a real-money cash game, we will reward every player in that hand with a £50 CASH REWARD!*
Remember, you must be playing a real-money cash game and only the flop card combinations as shown on the right will qualify.
If you qualify for the £50 reward you will receive a confirmation email from us, and your account will be credited on Monday 15th October.
It’s all in the luck of the draw!
Don’t forget, you can watch it, play on it,
maybe even star on it...

So what are the odds of flopping 8,4,6 suited (in that order) in any one hand?

Best run of my life. A local bar has holdem night. First prize is 100 bucks, it's about the play more then the money. About a year ago it was a small game (25-30 players) and when it was down to 2 of us left I got dealt AA 3 times in a row. He had 5x my stack before this run, and it was over with my favorite ictory of all time afterwards. I have won much more money elsewhere, but this I will always remember.

The odds are dependant on how many players are in the hand. The odds of 3 players in a 10 player table flopping a flush each are much less than 3 players out of 3 flopping a flush.

I was not involved in this hand but if someone out there is good with odds and such you could maye tell me what the odds of this happening are.

I know the odds of one player flopping a flush is around 100-1 but 3 players?

** Dealing the flop: 9 of Hearts, 3 of Hearts, Queen of Hearts
lisisimagen checked
DrHansen bet - $0.60
Paha4 called - $0.60
lisisimagen raised - $3.60
DrHansen called - $3.60
Paha4 called - $3.60

** Dealing the turn: 8 of Clubs
lisisimagen went all-in - $12.91
DrHansen went all-in - $1.33
Paha4 went all-in - $10.20
lisisimagen shows: 6 of Hearts, 7 of Hearts
DrHansen shows: 8 of Hearts, 2 of Hearts
Paha4 shows: Ace of Hearts, King of Hearts

** Dealing the river: 4 of Clubs
Paha4 wins $15.69 from the main pot
Paha4 wins $33.43 from side pot 1

His buddies were certainly drawing some cards. I had pocket kings busted by some crap and lost A-K s A-T, but that's poker and there's always another day...

PS: I made up for all my tourney thumpings over the weekend tonight on the .50/1.00 limit at Noble. Bunch of 12 year old kids with their raise button stuck. They may have been adults, but if so they need to go back to school...

True I don't need a calculator, when you play online you don't have time to do all the math every hand so best to memorize the most used ratios. Ratios are easier for me when it comes to comparing them to the pot. Percentages have an extra step that I just don't do. Now all I have to do is find a way to get some dam cards whenever Four Dogs is in the same game as me

As far as the odds you have 7 outs on the turn and 10 on the river overall u are about 2 to 1 to hit it so about the same as a flush draw or just slightly worse

i have a quick question for all you players out there that are good at figuring out odds. I was playing a hand last night where i was all in on the flop. i had 10's in the hole and another on the flop, so i had a set. but there were also three hearts on the flop and my opponent had a flush. my question is, with two cards to go, what were my odds of the board pairing or catching the fourth ten for me to win the hand, and there was no straight ot straight flush possibility

You should have folded when second j flopped blah blah blah! Seen hands like this too - consparacists (i've got to look up correct spelling of this word) would refer to it as an "action hand".

I would tend to think of it like this - there are hundreds of people on this site playing 100's of hands each week. One of us is bound to see something dodgy from time to time, (my favourite is 3 QQ's in 6 hands, followed by 3 33's in next 4 hands - also 2 consecutive 7777's). Although I dont agree with conspirisists (no that's not right either!), is it just me or is this more prevalent on Paradise???!!!!...

Not that uncommon. I have seen it more times than I would care to admit.

Sometimes it was me on the losing end with 2nd best of 3rd best hand. We can sit there and figure the odds and how unlikely that this kind of hand will happen. But, that won't prevent it from happening. I happens in spite of what the odds have to say.

Just like best hand losing to a suck out on the river. If you were to play 10,000's of hands will only begin to see how the odds bare out. Look for it in one tournament or even one short ring game session and you are unlikely to see anything.

Explanation is.... OH HELL NO not gonna stir that pot right now about odds anyway! Ummm Sorry about getting cornholded with no lubrication there... You are correct that exact hand would be ery unlikely to happen. If you are going to continue to play online you need to adjust your thinking to 1 of 2 ideals; online NL poker is rigged for higher rake and you should adjust your game accordingly or 2 that with billions of hands being dealt online you will see any and every possible card combination at some point in your online career.

This would still be detectable by a statistician who has a sample size larger than one single hand to base anything on. You lost a (admittedly freakish) hand, get over it and move on.

I just lost a monster pot at Paradise. I'm holding KK and K7J comes on the flop. 5 comes on the turn and then a J on the river. Betting has been heavy between 3 of us and is capped after river. The first guy turns over 77 for a fullhouse 7s full of Js. I have the fullhouse Ks full of Js. The last guy turns over JJ for 4 of a kind. Now everyone says these games aren't rigged but when was the last time you saw something like this in a live game. I realize that people have done studies on the odds of hitting certain hands but those numbers can be manipulated so that they can put big hand against big hand and still remain in the norm. What I am saying is the odds for hitting a big hand goes up when someone else is holding a big hand and the odds go down when no one slse has a big hand. In the end the odds average out. I am probably wrong but I am pissed off at the moment.
