Ivey never played Beal, but Lederer did. So did Doyle and Todd Brunson. (That's why I included Lederer and Doyle) BTW, it wasn't EXACTLY $15 million but it was a ridiculous number that was won/lost.

That's the whole point, it's a dream final table, so anyone can be there. (Plus, I can almost guarantee none of these final tables will actually materialize in the immediate or late futures, because even witht eh great poker names on the lists, most likely, there is no way that they would all be able to make it through the large fields during the same year.

But on a side note, my thought was that Beal quit poker altogether after Phil Ivey took him for about $15 million or something ridiculous like that in one of their HU matches. Now that is owning someone.

My dream table based on entertainment and/or man-lust alue:

Seat 1 - Mike Matusow (for the attitute, annoying chatter and "big boy pout")
Seat 2 - Daniel Negreanu (what dream table would be complete without him?)
Seat 3 - Erick Lindgren (because he's such a cute teddy bear)
Seat 4 - Me (snuggled between Erick and Gus)
Seat 5 - Gus Hansen (poker hotness defined)
Seat 6 - Tony G (so he can berate me about raising his blind)
Seat 7 - Phil Hellmuth (does this need an explanation?)
Seat 8 - Humberto Brenes (all you can eat!)
Seat 9 - Gabe Kaplan (smart, funny and entertaining)
Seat 10 - Tobey Maguire (celebrity cutie)

Or a table of those who deserve it due to pure poker greatness (in no particular order):

Allen Cunningham
Ted Forrest
Daniel Negreanu
Dan Harrington
Chip Reese
Paul Magriel
Phil Hellmuth
Jennifer Harman
Doyle Brunson
Michael Mizrachi

For me:

Me
Tony G. - funny
Sammy Farha - aggressive
Daniel Negreanu - the thinker
Johnny Chan - the champ
The Mouth - funny squared when sitting with Tony
Gus Hanson - just because
Gab Caplan (Mr. Carter) - TV star

Nice table, would be entertaining to see.

But I don't it'll be a "matter of time" before Ivey wins the big one. I don't think you could say that about anyone, even if they could see the pocket cards preflop. There's a lot of factors involved, I'm sure he'll get deep and close or even possibly win a few times more, but I doubt a guarantee now with the fields as huge as they are. Trust me, its like mass pandemonium, with the amount of people in the Main Event fields.

Seat 4: Phil Helmuth (He is a great NLHE player, antics and all, he is still one of the best, and entertaining as well)

Seat 5: Phil Ivey (No particular reason, except that he is the general consensus pick by most pros as the best player in the world)

Seat 6: Johnny Chan (Just because, well he's Johnny Chan, nothing else needs to be said)

Seat 7: Greg Raymer (Don't know how he does it, but always seems to make a good showing in Main Event)

Seat 8: Annie Duke (I think she's the best female player out there, she deserves a final table spot; just finished 10th a few years back)

This is a ery good question, ery fun.
IMO you need an underdog pro overcoming odds to win the Main Event. I suppose it's because that's what might have to actually happen for a pro to ever win again...

Here's my table: '07 Main Event Final Table - Ivey is short stack, Gold somehow once again has a HUGE chip lead. The other amateur players name's I would have sitting at the table are insignificant in the matter. It comes down to Phil Ivey and the arrogant Jamie Gold. Ivey is still low stacked, but he is his usual calm, cool, collected self, making great move after another to take down the championship he deserves. Crippling Gold's chance to make two in a row and be among the world's greatest players ever to have lived.

Probably should have put Chan, Brunson, or Ungar in there a long with Ivey and Gold, but that's a much longer story.

I posed this question to dbitelm, but thought the rest of the forum would love to answer. If you could pick a dream final table to watch, for the final 9 of the Main Event at the WSOP this year, who would the final 9 of your fantasy final table be and what would be your the reasons for wanting to see them play?

It could be because they're your favorite player, entertainment alue to watch on TV, a professional that deserves it finally, a professional that doesn't deserve it, former Main Event champions, a non-professional, a CardsChat member, a certain celebrity, ect. Oh and of course, you can have yourself at the final table as well if u desire.

I'll post my answer later, I'm still thinking.
