Steven: Thank you for contacting LiveSupport, how may I help you today?
CongoMike: Hello.
Steven: Hello there!
CongoMike: I have contacted Support@junglepoker.com two times over the past couple of weeks, but have not received any reply.
CongoMike: Also, my bonus terms have changed without notice.
CongoMike: Therefore, I have submitted a withdrawal request, and have no intention of playing a single hand at Jungle Poker in the future.
Steven: Yes, the bonus terms changed about 1 month ago.
CongoMike: Why are the old bonus terms still displayed on Jungle Poker's website? This is a deceptive marketing practice
Steven: We still making the changes.
CongoMike: Why would the bonus terms change retroactively? That's the old bait & switch.
Steven: That's a management... | | Read Entire Entry |
| Posted by: mikes007 at December 14, 2007, 10:34 am | | Topic: Jungle Poker changes bonus terms Forum: Bonus Whores | Well, Jungle Poker dropped the ball. On December 5th I sent them the following email:
Hello,
A few days ago, I noticed that the clearing requirements of my bonuses as detailed in the Pending Bonus List had changed for the worse. Instead of $5 for every 40 points earned, the new requirements were listed as $5 for every 100 points earned. I contacted Live Support, who confirmed that the bonus terms have changed.
As an online poker player with many poker rooms to choose from, I am dismayed to find out that the terms of Jungle Poker's bonuses have changed. Particularly galling are the facts that players were not warned of this change in advance, and that the change is retroactive to bonuses for which the qualifying deposit has already been made. I believe that it is poor business practice on the part of Jungle Poker to change the terms and conditions while a player is in the middle of clearing a bonus. Amazingly, the Jungle Poker website continues to advertise... | | Read Entire Entry |
| Posted by: mikes007 at December 6, 2007, 9:25 am | | Topic: Jungle Poker changes bonus terms Forum: Bonus Whores | I sent an email to the address that "Gus" gave me. When/If they respond, I'll post both emails to this thread.
It's a damn shame that Jungle is playing these games. I opened an account with them because I was looking for a good bonus at a site that allows US players. Their shorthanded NL action is sparse but very, very, soft. I don't even know how to play shorthanded, and I was killing the games. I was very happy with them until they pulled this BS. They would have had a very satisfied customer, who would keep coming back. Oh well, I guess I will have to open an account at Bugsy/True/Cake skins instead, unless Jungle sends me an incredible email response. | | Static Link |

Most t&c's allow them to change without notice if you read the fine print. | | Static Link |

The sad thing, as mentioned in this thread, that retroactively changing bonus terms is all too common. In general I think that its done mostly out of incompetence of the sites and/or software limitations. There should be at least warnings given to players of their intentions. At Jungle, their website hasn't even been updated yet. | | Static Link |

FWIW I've never played there.

Gus: How may I help you today?
CongoMike: Hello. I was wondering, have the bonus clearing requirements been changed?
Gus: Not really why?
CongoMike: I clicked on Pendin Bonus in the cashier. The Pending Bonus List webpage came up. It says "Require 100 Points to release $5.00" Before, it used to say "Require 40 points to release $5"
Gus: Please allow me one moment.
CongoMike: ok
Gus: Well it seems yes those were all changed...
CongoMike: Why?
Gus: iI will inquiry about it... but I am seeing the same you are.
CongoMike: Have other players been similarly affected?
Gus: Yes, all players...
CongoMike: hello?
CongoMike: oh, this is bad news indeed, if the bonus has become 2.5 times worse than before, without Jungle Poker giving any notice to anybody, and retroactively changing bonus terms.
Gus: I am very sorry, that is the way management ... | | Read Entire Entry |
