Thanks Dave! I feel a little better now.

Not only have I been getting beat on the river but I'm getting called with BS cards that the river likes. te=unlucky79;652159]Hello everyone,
Just curious to ask everyone if its my luck that sucks or is jokerstars just full of bad beats. Today i have lost 3 heads up tourneys on the river either by a guy catching his higher 2 pair on me or a str8 or a flush hitting. Now Im not one to gripe but it is getting pretty damn rediculous as of late. I even have my wife expecting me to take a bad beat on the river because it is happening like 80% of the time lately. Somehow someway I have managed to break even with all this being said in the last week. Just want to know what you guys think about pokerstars or whether I should cash out and play somewhere else? Thanks in advance!!! Unlucky79
P.S Im really starting to believe my screen name has a curse to go along with the name...[/quote]

getting sucked out on the river is a part of the game...the luck factor if you will.when i get sucked out on the river it is unfortunate but i try to keep in mind the times i do the sucking out.as far as it being rigged i think that's just an excuse for some people.i believe that all these things even out over time and just try not to let it get to me.sure it sucks but you can't get to worked up over it or it will probably affect your game and not in a good way.just take the hit and keep in mind you won't always be on the bad end of things.we all need the river suck-out from time to time and if you think about you'll see that it does go your way as well.

This was a poor attempt at sarcasm. I don't really think this is true, but you hear so many stories about how people get screwed on the river at Stars, Tilt, casinos, home games, that it would seem everyone always puts their money in with the best hand and it always holds up until the river.

It's called selective recall. All the times you're screaming "ONE TIME!" and catch the 2 outer you desperately need somehow slips your mind... but the times you get drawn out on stick in your head. Get over it, "that's poker".

I don't know why, but I see A LOT more hands on PokerStars change on the river than live....
I've played thousands on both ends as well, live tables since '69. Just an observation, so it is only an 'opinion' (and we know all about those ;-) but I think there is a wider range of hole card combinations played online than live. Online players seem to take hands to showdown more often percentage wise than live players do. With a wider assortment of 'possible' hits, online will produce more changes by showdown.

Definitely not picked at random. Pokerstars has 1,500 full time monitors that multi-screen the tables and hand pick their favorites. Often they will even place side bets between themselves on who will call an all-in and what will happen to them on the river. It is a ery lucrative business for the table monitors. They only play the moderators freerolls to throw us off track.

Whenever that happens I just remember the times people pushed all-in with a gutshot and missed. Even though it doesn't often seem like it, just remember that more people chase a draw at you and miss than hit. Of course remember that if you give hands like that odds (and if they have multiple draws they could be close to the favorite, ie a straight flush draw with 2 overs = 21 outs)

I have been playing at Pokerstars recently and have found it to be good. We all get bad runs - the other day I sat down at four different sessions in one day and every single thing I touched turned to custard. However the next two days were great. Thats poker, thats the way the cards come out. You have to expect a % of the rivers to go against you. The real problem is perception - when they do, you tend to remember them. Take a deep breath, go and jump in some cold water, then come back and play.

Well I have had the same sh*t happen at full tilt. Sometimes it seems like the cards are out to get you. Just take a little break and come back strong. Bad runs and bad beats are going to happen to everyone. Its always crappy to be ahead the whole hand and see your opponent catch a lucky card on the river. Don't feel bad about griping, we all need to ent every now and then. Hope you start running better, good luck

There are days where things go bad...then get worse. Yesterday I had the same guy who chased his straight to the river and caught both times against me. Would call a bet with one card to go and push all in on draws on the flop. ER.
You have to adjust your play for loose, calling station fools who sometimes fill the tables at PS in the lower limits. Other sites probably have less fools, but assuming you're in the lower limits, I'm pretty sure it's nothing you'll be able to avoid at other sites because the river is not the problem, IMO, most of the time. You should be able to rebound fairly easily to a few bad beats, or even a few bad days in a row, with proper BR management.
