The set is just like the photo in the promo letter. Someone who knows about cards and chips will have to rate the quality. I guess I've only ever had paper (cardboard?) cards, because these are like every other deck I've had, and I don't think they're plastic. I've never held a chip before in my life, as I play strictly online.
The delay was a nuisance, but the timing of the arrival makes it an early Christmas present.

My package was sent from Mississauga, ON via Canada Post if that's any help - it actually got here Thursday but I missed the delivery and so picked it up from a postal outlet the next day.
