So I know people are talking about this year's WSOP. My question is, who's played in past WSOP events (including circuit events).
If you have, how were they in terms of skill level? Anyone money in a WSOP event? Any wins? Just curious (and wishing I were 21).

Forget about playing in the freerolls with 2000 people that you have to win to get into another one with 1500 people that you have to win to get into one with 1000 people, etc.
Try to find freerolls that will pay money or pts that can be converted into money. Then play in low limit Sit N Gos or micro ring games and try to build your stack.
Keep in mind there are some WSOP tournies where you play for a bracelet (just like in the main event) and they only cost $1,000 to enter. Or you can try your hand as a Super Satellite. Those are usually $200+$25 and pay out seats to the main event.
Good luck.

There are a huge amount of freerolls for the WSOP every year. Its a bit early at the mo (thought I have seen a few sites advertising) but trust me once one of the sites starts holding them, they all will.
Also, dont be so negative. There are hundreds of players every year who are not good enough to be at the WSOP, thats why you get celebrities, rich ppl etc etc playing.
If you do manage to get into a few freerolls then enjoy it and who knows, you might even get a seat

I think pokerstars does something like that too, you have to win i think 3 or 4 tournaments to do well. I think the enrollment is like 2-6 thousand per freeroll.

personally I think that is one damn hard way to get there, I think you play FR and if you win FR you go to satellite and win there and next satellite and again satellite last I saw was like 4or5 agains and you get the seat, again I may be wrong but thats what I think I saw at Ultimatebet I think other sites have freerolls to a wsop satelite but they last a long time and have some pretty solid players in them but you never know I don't think its impossible but pretty tough though.

I listened to the entire final table on cardplayer.com . They had live streaming audio with commentary by people like Phil Hellmuth , Jennifer Harmon , David Williams, Jesus Ferguson , Daniel Negreanu and many others. It was quite interesting and lasted for a ery long time. It will be interesting to see how they condense over 15hours of final table play into an hour t show. Hopefully they will make it 2 hours or more. As for who wins: Joseph Hachem won the 7.5 million dollar prize. However Andrew Black from Ireland who went out in like 5th place was definitely the best player at the table. He had some horrific beats by some of the others , specifically Aaron Kantor who was ery lucky to even make it that far since he put all his money in after the turn card on just a flush draw and got super lucky to take out Raymer in around 27 or somewhere like that. Another good player was Tex Barch who I think went out in 4th place. He was quite a solid player but again took some bad beats. All in all it was quite fu... | | Read Entire Entry |

ESPN broadcasts the 2005 WSOP this Tuesday, July 19th at I believe 8 pm EST.
I have heard that over 20 events are going to be broadcast this year, so don't expect the main event any time soon.
As for results of the WSOP, go to www.cardplayer.com, they have all the results for every tournament (the 2005 WSOP is finished).

stars said they would run their last sat july 3, unless harrah's (the company that owns/operates the WSOP) announces earlier they had filled the players quota, estimated this year to be around 6600.
