Type of player? I'd have to say positional/aggressive (is that even a type)???? I'm a Raise/Fold type guy......if I figure my cards are good enough to call with in correlation with my position I usually raise or reraise.
Peace

Well i wouldnt say im tight aggressive, id say im loose aggressive, since i am, but that still doesnt sum up my style. Since i play mainly position and math, but am then aggressive when i do come into a pot. So im a kind of
plays depending on position and odds and whether first to act - aggressive

How about - flexibly tight, selectively aggressive....
I tend to agree with the previous comments. Me = Flexible/fluid, depending on the game, situation, table, buy-in, etc. Being able to mix it up allows you to make many moves you might not otherwise do if you had only one monotonous and ery predictable image.
I can only guess that most would want themselves described as tight/aggressive in the hopes of being able to pre-convince other players that they should dominate the action in any hand they play.
To that, my reply would be - it's more like tight BS/aggressive BS. ...

It all depends on the game, and players, to adapt a certain strategy. Obviously tight and aggro is best given most situations...,
Sit and go's have the same strat for me, tight and aggressive early - as the blinds rise/players defeated fairly fast you become more loose once you enter the money. Its simple and always effective.
But it all depends on the quality of players you are playing to what extreams of bets you will make, and with what cards.

I agree. I think there's the players who really don't know how to describe how they play and then there's the players who can change up at any time. When people ask me, I actually do say "It depends." Is it a cash game or SnG? Loose table or tight? $10 NLHE or $50 NLHE? The best players can change gears in any situation.
I think the better question is "How would other players describe you?" Then you play off that.

For some reason when asked what kind of player they are, the standard answer people seem to give is "Tight Aggressive". I mean even when you go over the chats with the pros archive at FT, people answer "Tight Aggressive".
I can't be the only one bugged by this. Wouldn't the honest answer be "It depends on the table"? Or "I don't know". Or "Crappy but improving"?
I know I know, there's no place for honesty in poker. But come on. If everyone were Tight-Aggressive, well heck, the game would be boring as hell and I'd probably bitch twice as much as I already do.
Ah, that's better. More room out than in. It's what my mom says about sneezes and gas(yuck).
