You are right. approx 1 in 3 with 2 draws but still bad odds

Considering you called an all-in with nothing but a flush 'draw' - yeah, I'd have to agree with calling it 'chasing'.
Beyond that, it was a J high flush you were chasing. with rags on the board. If opponent had a 'big' pair and one was a heart, what would runner, runner hearts have done to your chase ?
I think I could find a whole lot better hands to bet the farm on, but that's just me. I would also guess that this was a FREEroll or micro MTT, which would also explain your call - online. Would you really have called that all-in bet at a casino table ?
Reading between the lines of your post, and your subsequent question, are you looking for someone to justify your call as 'good play' ?

You didn't say how much the all in was but I'm assuming early in a tourny that it was significant. So you were risking a lot of chips for 250 chip pot with a 1 in 6 draw. Definitely chasing and a ery bad play. I would suggest reading some of the articles here Poker Strategy - Poker Theory, Poker Articles, Strategies & Tips.

With no pair, yes. You just admitted you needed to beat a big pair right? You were chasing the "draw", which means you have a hand that is not yet good.

Depends on the stack sizes. But it sure sounds like you didn't have odds to call.

I'm on the button. blinds are 15-30. UTG raises to 105. next player calls- folds to me and I'm on the button. blinds are 15-30. UTG raises to 105. next player calls- folds to me and I call with J8 hearts. flop is all rags with 2 hearts. UTG goes all in. Right there I put him on a big pr trying to drive out a flush draw. The next player folds and I call thinking all I have to beat is a big pr. Turn is no help and the river gives me my flush. he's out and says that I was chasing. Was I?
