I already had the $50 in FT when I posted this. I would've went with PS..but the payouts are higher at FT.

I'll deal with the rake for now.

Just my own preference, but I've never understood the purpose of the ery large MTT SNG ... only play the single, or maybe two-table, events.
If I want to play a larger, longer event, I look for a scheduled tournament.
Don't like not knowing when, or even if, it's going to start.

Of course, there might not be one starting at any given time at any particular site.

If possible for you, play $1 SNGs at another site where the rake is 10% and when you get to $100+, transfer to Full Tilt.

Hm..okay, let me just manage to withdraw under FT's minimum limit to get my $50 back to buy a book when I already have 1 of the best poker books there is so I'm further away from building the bankroll that you want me to have...or maybe I'll pass :P

I didn't ask for opinions on the size of my bankroll..I asked for opinions on the SnG's I should play, thanks though

take the 50 bucks buy a copy of Harrington on Poker and Phil Gordons coloring book (red or green cant remember) and save up about 200 bucks up for a bank roll while you read em, and learn em......then start off at the $2 SNG single tables.................GL

If I can offer any advice for the low-buyin games, it's to conserve your chips and just let the donks knock each other out.

Typically, players at this level don't respect bluffs and they'll happily call a shove with second pair. You'd be surprised how often you can cruise into 3rd or even 2nd playing the absolute minimum number of hands.

yes exactly the 2$ sngs are a better choice.. simply....the best thing to do is stick to the lowest possible limits.......tourneys:1$ buy-in/.10c re-buy tournament.......ring games the .05c/.10c tables which is still a little much compared to Poker Stars and many other sites with .02c/.05c and .01/.02 tables which are great for low BR!

The problem with $1.25 SnGs is that the rake is exhorbitant - 25%. As soon as you move up to the $2 games, it goes down to a more acceptable 12.5%. So you want to get out of the $1 games as soon as possible. That said, you're not really rolled for $2 SnGs.

What I'm doing at the moment at those levels is playing a mix of $1 and $2 games - if I win a $1 game then I move up to the $2 level: I've won enough to cover the buyin and keep a little profit besides. If I cash at the $2 level I stay there, but as soon as I finish out of the money I move straight back down.

That way, you get a shot at the higher level and higher profit, but you're not jeopardising you bankroll as badly: in theory you'll still be ahead at the point you drop back down.

As to the STTs s MTTs, it's really up to you personal preference. I find I get more consistent results from the STTs.

Ok, trying to build a bankroll from $50 at FT.. I'm guessing the best way to start this low at this site would be the 1.25 sngs. My question is, do I stand a better chance at the single tables, 5 table(45 ppl) or the 9?(90 ppl) tables?

Which is preferred by you repliers and why?
