They may pursue legal action if:you live in the UK, andyou won quite a large sum this way (maybe over £500)Can't see it happening otherwise...

Actually this has directly impacted on the world of matched betting, too. Betfair is far and away the biggest exchange for us to lay our bets at, we all have to keep money there, and they always used to have irtually instant withdrawals. This was handy as generally we tend to lose at the bookie and win at Betfair, so we could quickly withdraw the Betfair winnings to pay back into the bookies, enabling us to cash in on the next opportunity. Now because of this problem with their poor quality poker software, all withdrawals from Betfair are automatically delayed by 12 hours

i read about this before
but the players have to return money
betfair said they will be persuing legal action if the money is not returned
its in the terms and agreements of betfair that all money won in this kind of way had to be returned

I found this earlier in the news -
Betfair Poker have sent a letter to around 20 online poker players demanding that they return over £100,000 that was won during a software glitch at the poker room. The glitch meant that instead of only paying the top two, every player in a 'six-pack' sit and go was given 2nd place prize money, apart from the winner who got the normal payout. This ensured a profit for everyone at the table.
This happened last month and when certain players caught wind of what was happening, many were quickly testing the situation out again and again, at higher and higher stakes. Eventually making unusually large traffic in the $1000 six-pack games.
Hundreds of games were played before the poker room caught on to what was happening, at which point players were quickly withdrawing money from their accounts.
