I feel sure you will find that Sky Poker do not accept Americans.
The parent company, British Sky Broadcasting, is a large and high-profile corporation in the UK. The poker site is a ery minor part of their worldwide business. They are not going to risk conflict (which might seriously damage their other interests) with the US authorities over what is just a sideline to them.

i think this is still one of the most iolent attacks at our most basic of rights as americans! what and how much of my money i spend ON ANYTHING, is completely MY BUSINESS. some of the sites listed still take my deposits and withdrawals. and i am in the "dreaded 11". and as far as online gambling disappearing forever, i hardly doubt that. the fight continues to protect our rights and, hopefully soon, this will all be behind us. thanks for the time!

Hi guys, Have'nt posted in a while. Been to tired of trying to figure out who lets you play, who takes your money where why when how legal not UUUGGGHHH!
Good news now (maybe). I just received an email from the site I used to play at ( big bonus bucks), and they now take Ecocard and ewalletxpress. Seems I will give it a try and see if it works. Anyone else had any luck with these methods of payment?

From GNUF support:
Hi Tammy,
Thank you for your email to Gnuf.
Players from USA may still open accounts with us and may use the play money
tables, however at this time we are unable to accept deposits due to American
legislation.
If you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact us
again.
Regards,
Ian @ Gnuf Support
Play money only? Hmmmm...what's the point?

I appreciate your checking into it. I'm curious! You know how hard it's getting to be to keeping these lists updated with all the changes. I have a back page of unsure sites that I emailed on the 30th of May and none of them (except for the ones I have transferred), have responded back.

Well then they must have changed it since you've played last, because we ery recently had a promotion with GNUF, and our US members were not able to participate. Alternately, when looking on the GNUF website, there are no contact numbers for people calling from the US. I will send an email to GNUF support to make doubly sure, but from all indications, they no longer accept US players. (Keep in mind I still received newsletters from Titan after they banned US players.)

Debra, that list is not accurate, as GNUF for one does not allow US players. The list we have in the OP are all erified either US or non US sites. We don't want to go by heresay or just word of mouth. That is why I requested that members copy/paste an email they received or a site announcement, so that we know with absolute certainty that the list is correct.
In the future, if you would like to add a site to the list, please be sure to follow those guidelines. Thank you.

Here we go again. Apologies to those who already understand this stuff.
Those sites which have banned American players have (without exception, as far as I know) done so for one of the following two reasons:
1) They came under pressure from their bankers, because banks are primarily responsible under UIGEA and most large banks have offices in America and are ulnerable.
2) They are publicly quoted companies. Stock market rules (certainly in the London market, where many of these companies are registered) require, as part of business ethics, that companies shall not flout the law in any major jurisdiction where they trade.
The sites which still allow Americans are those which are privately owned, do not use American bankers and have no physical presence in America, so that they can feel reasonably safe from possible harrassment by the anti-gambling nutters who currently have authority in the States.
As regards Party, I expect it must seem, if you are in Americ... | | Read Entire Entry |

Some will let you play it out, some wont. some will just cash you out. automatically. i played on party poker when they first started and it was like candy, too sweet. now its a shot in the dark for your money so watch out. they can fold anytime and your in the dust.

If it`s any help, I heard today about this new site:
Make A Deposit
where you can apparently make a deposit to any poker room using your normal Visa or Mastercard. It is being recommended by some of the poker rooms, and I learned about it in an email newsletter from one of them.
If it works as advertised it could be ery useful.
Since the poker rooms are endorsing it, I presume it is reasonably sound. However, being in the UK, I am still using Neteller. So, please be aware that I have not tried it personally and cannot ouch for it.

Hi guys, let's keep this particular thread on topic. This thread is meant ONLY to announce sites, etc. that either are or are not accepting US players. This can be done by copy/pasting official emails, etc. that you may have received or come across. Any other discussion regarding the current US legislation on internet gambling can be done in other threads, or, you can feel free to start your own thread. Thanks.

Federal Wire Wager Act
By: Jeffrey Rodefer
Extracted from: Internet Gambling in Nevada: Overview of Federal Law Affecting Assembly Bill 466,
Courtesy of Liebert Publishing, Gambling Law Review
In 1961, Congress enacted the Wire Act [57]as a part of series of antiracketeering laws. The Wire Act complements other federal bookmaking statutes, such as the Travel Act (interstate travel in aid of racketeering enterprises, including gambling), the Interstate Transportation of Wagering Paraphernalia Act, and the Illegal Gambling Business Act (requires a predicate state law iolation).
The Wire Act was intended to assist the states, territories and possessions of the United States, as well as the District of Columbia, in enforcing their respective laws on gambling and bookmaking and to suppress organized gambling activities.[58] Subsection (a) of the Wire Act, a criminal provision, provides:Whoever being engaged in the business of betting or wagering knowingly u... | | Read Entire Entry |

Since when has Bank of America implemented this? I have not heard anything about this?
I have never had a problem sending money to Neteller from B of A in the last month.
If what you are saying is true then Online Bill Pay is going to have Major problems.
Hence the New Law Doing away with a convenent way to Pay your Bills.

A little note about the online banks. Bank of America is not doing any transactions with any online banks. I talked to one of their telephone fraud reps and thats what they are saying. This includes Neteller, Firepay, and Paypal. The rep stated that this isn't going to be permanent and they are waiting for the Port Security Bill to be finalized so they can rewrite their policy.

At the suggestion of Egon, I've added a section for payment processers, or online banks. So far, I've only seen information for Neteller and FirePay, so if any of you use any other forms of online banking--i.e. Moneybookers, Citadel, etc.--please let us know if you hear anything.
I've also decided to delete the "Undecided" category. I don't see much point in it. A site is either banning US players, or they're not. We'll add them in the appropriate spot as we get word.
Thanks again everyone!

Since this is the second go-round with this (someone deleted the previous one in a freak accident--can't imagine who...), if you see any discrepancies in the lists above, please post here.
Also, when posting sites to be added, please copy/paste the email you received from the site, as we want this to be as official as possible. Thanks all!
Please keep in mind that as I update your responses into the original thread above, I will be deleting the posts so we can keep this thread clutter free.

JuiceeQ and I are starting a Banned Poker list. She will be able to edit the first(original) list.(because she's the WONDER MOD) So I gave it a go on starting us off here.
You guys let us know what rooms should be on the BANNED list. What rooms should be on the ALLOWED LIST. And which rooms are UNDECIDED. These lists are just the start, if a room needs to be changed to the other list, let us know.
When posting here to tell us about a room that is "BANNED","ALLOWED", or "UNDECIDED" please post the E-mail or link to where you found out the information!
