You might try playing as if there was no bonus at all, or as others have said on this forum, treat the bonus as just that, a BONUS, and nothing more. So what if you lose money playing poker, you said you're new, treat that loss as experience, go over hand histories, figure out what went wrong, read a book, etc. Also, you might want to pick up Poker Tracker if you're serious about the game, as it gives you invaluable info about yourself and your opponents.
I have newly acquired Poker Tracker, but I'm still exploring how it might help me. It rates me as semi-loose-passive/passive. I have also read a couple of books from Krieger, "The Poker Players Bible" and "Poker for Dummies". I skipped the sections in these not dealing with Hold'em, learning this game before trying the others. I am in the market for more books. And, yes, I don't mind losing/le... | | Read Entire Entry |

I'd like to sign up, but I'm new enough to poker that I'm not confident enough to play at the higher limit tables to get a larger rake. I haven't even tried to get a bonus at PokerPlex, Littlewoods, or WillHill because I'm afraid I'd lose my bonus all to just posting my blinds at their table limit minimum.
For example, I cleared Party's reload this month, deposited $500, got the $100, and profited $11 from my poker play at .10/.25 NLHE, withdrawing $611. I know I've got to do better than $11 from playing 700 hands at some point. On the positive side, on my initial sign-up bonus last month, I only cashed out $575. That's still a profit, but I lost money playing poker.
Thanks for any info!
