No true bonuswhore should take the attitude that playing only for the bonus constitutes abuse. If they don't like it they can change the terms.

Sorry FakeG, but I find this advice slightly amusing. In a way, you are right of course - since you are doing this, and haven't been banned, they are obviously leaving you alone if you play 1 or 2 SnGs...
...but (for Party Poker itself especially) the same would be true if you had chosen not to play any SnGs, and instead you bite the head off a chicken after every bonus you clear and dance naked three times around your computer going "blip" before you withdraw. That would also lead to Party not shutting you down.
My point being, that just because a certain behaviour doesn't get you shut down doesn't mean that not performing it would get you banned.
While it cannot possibly hurt to play an SnG (or 10 hands in a ring game, or whatever) every now and then, I am fairly confident that Party could easily recognize your account as being a "whore acco... | | Read Entire Entry |

I tend to think that there is usually something more going on than simple bonus whoring. Like gnoming, for instance...
In more specific response to your question I way cover play at Party - I whore points there, too! I make sure I play at least one hand a day to acculate the raked week and raked month points and use the points to play an occasional freeroll. (Which are fairly easy to cash if you like that sort of thing. I do not, however, play their freerolls during bonus periods.)
I do not do much cover play at Empire and never have. Maybe I ought to... Perhaps a SNG once in a while. It is just hard to justify much cover play when you are otherwise operating legimately. There are so many other bonus opportunities to persue! | | Static Link |

Matter of fact I think JP and I were talking about this at work the other day. It might actually come to that but with sites like Multi giving 15x bonuses I would be pissed if I had to cover play there.
For the most part to answer your question I say no. Don't worry about cover play.
