When you refer a friend you usually both "split" the sign-up bonus. If your friend would normally receive $50, the site will give you a $30 referral fee and your friend $20 (or something similar). I wouldn't go so far as to say it's unethical but it's pretty rude. Bottom line is you're basically using this sites resources and membership to drive referrals away from this site which is how this site makes it money and why this forum exists.
I can agree with that too - but if the original poster is on a low BR and can refer a friend, and they (both) get to a bigger BR and then use the bigger referrals from here, then I guess that would be OK..?
