just a remark because Ongame is mentioned here: Your total return on a bonus is bonus - rake + rakeback. Seems simple, and maybe u guys check the rake, but I myself havent started to look at the rake structure until halfway through the bonus, and their rake is significantly higher, so the bonus wasn't quite what it looked like.
Also games are slower there which changes the hourly rate.

exactly. And thats why a hourly clearing rate for a bonus is pretty inaccurate, a rakeback % for cash games would be much more suitable.

For some bonuses (Ongame, for example) its quite simple to determine your rakeback %. However, for many bonuses, giving a rakeback % is just as difficult as determining hourly rates, due to the changes in variables listed here.

See if you play more and bigger pots, you pay more rake, you get more points, you get more bonus.

so "rake paid" is usually proportional to "bonus received". At least it would be more accurate than $/hour. and for me it's a better way of evaluating a bonus in terms of how much rake you get back than how much I earn more per hour...

1. A contributed bonus means you have to contribute to the pot to get points/raked hands. Contributed rake means you have to contribute to the pot to get credit for rake paid. It can either be average contributed (total rake is divided evenly between all players who contribute to the pot) or weighted contributed (your rake will depend on how much you contribute to the pot).

2. There is usually no direct correlation between bonus clearance and rake paid (for cash games). Instead, bonus clearance rate depends on some of the follwowing factors: The stakes you play, number of players at the table, how loose you play and how big the pots are.

At first Id like to say I love the site and whoever runs it.

My questions:

1. Could someone explain or link an explanation of the different typos of rake calculations? Ive heard of distributed and contributed or something, maybe someone could bother to explain?

2. Is there some kind of formula for calculating the r/b percentage of a bonus? I dont like the "hourly rate" way of presenting the effectivness of the bonus. I like it the way its done for the tournaments. Like a 10x bonus on ongame is 50% tournament rakeback.

Thanks in advance for helpful responses
