Ok, quick update:

I have heard back from the Ombudsman. They apologize for the delay -- apparently some information given was in error -- and assure me that they have their "best man on the job" and will report back "once we receive word from that investigation".

Fair enough, thanks to them for that, and let's hope for the best.

No. I'll let you know when I hear something, but please keep in mind that the Ombudsman does state that it will take some time for them to process these issues.

Upgraded to "In Progress" based on the fact that the casino has responded and asked for further info from the player.

Sending a PM: in any one of my posts you'll see my avatar in the upper left (the Frankenstein guy). Beside that is my user name. Click on my user name and you'll get a pop-up context menu. One of the items on that menu is "Send a private message to maxd". Select that and you'll be sent directly to the PM edit page. It should be pretty obvious from there.

Ok, just heard back from the Ombudsman crew. Cutting to the chase here's what they said:

Quote:

...once the nick of "rubberducked" account is known to us the complaint will be forwarded to the centralized Ongame Network fraud unit for further investigation.

I presume they want your account name at CnR. If you could send that to me ia PM I'll forward it to them and ... I guess we go to the next step, whatever that might be.

Well, I see that they've posted this at the Ombudsman page:

Quote:

Due to the holiday season all inquiries to the Ongame Network Ombudsman as of December 22 will be handled in the new year.

My guess is that we're better of waiting until Wednesday the 2nd before sending them anything. If we do it today it'll just get stuck in their Xmas backlog and we'll have that much longer to wait.

Yes, I played alot up to around 1996 when it began to go downhill.
The worst loss was when they changed to all cash payouts and all the old "skill climb" features were replaced by pseudo-skill (as in rigged) features where you could not get the jackpot unless the machine was really ready for it.
I still played somewhat after that, but have not been on my rounds for a couple of years now.
The new gambling act has bade things worse, in that many of the motorway fruit machines are closed off because they now require an ejector of under 18's to be permanently stationed in the machine area, not just using CCTV from the shop or restaurant with half-hourly checks.
Naturally, if I got some decent "info", I would be off on a trip, knowing full well it probably would not last long.
It's a good job online casinos came along to fill the oid

No, I haven't. Somewhere on the Ongame site though it does say that issue submitted to the Ombudsman will take some time to be processed. I thought they said 21 days but I can't seem to find that just now.

Ok, I've heard back from CnR. According to them the way forward seems to center on the fact that ChecknRaise was a member of the Ongame Network and Ongame oversees security, risk and fraud issues for the network. So here's the gist of what they had to say:

Quote:

This player's account was flagged by Ongame and subsequently blocked. (I believe Red Kings is also an Ongame site, so the reason for the block on both sites may be linked) .... I would suggest as a first step is that the player contact an Ombudsman that Ongame has set up for players' complaints with respect to one of the Ongame partner sites. ( He could access this by going to theongamezone.com/ombudsman ). Hopefully the player will be able to get help this way. If this does't work I can try to see what I can find out from Ongame ...

So that's that. I'll alert the Ombudsman to what's going on here and see if that precipitates some action. I'd suggest the player(s) do the same.

hey inyl, yes as i say about 6 months ago i was looking to play poker online full time ,i didnt have any informaton about which sites were any good so i just started by downloading about a dozen or so sites and playing a few games on each to see if i liked them. i (as you know) i downloaded all 3 of these sites and set up accounts without knowing that i had in fact already broken the terms and conditions of these sites without actually playing a single game.why is it then even possible to set up 3 accounts from the SAME email addy, surely this is something that should not be allowed in the first place? surely they should be blocking me from opening another account on the same skin.to let somebody open 3 accounts and then to tell me i have broken the terms and conditions is just mindboggling

Again, as a non-poker player, why is the player having such problems making any progress on this. Even with your intervention, and the help of others, this seems likely to be going to take forever.
How could the player have avoided these problems?
Did the player do something wrong, or is this a "snowball effect" from changes within the industry with one skin being taken over by another, or lack of clarity between different skins as to what the underlying poker network is.
I get the impression that is it like the Microgaming tournaments, you create one multiplayer tournament "account", and then use this at any MG casino offering the tourname...

I haven't heard anything, still trying to get in touch with someone at CnR.

I am available for contact regarding any issue. Rubberducked PM me or email me (bberndt at chanpoker dot net) your user information for CnR.

Pokeraddict, we acquired the players ia OnGame, so no we did acquire their liabilities. I will however do anything I can to assist, as I am in the process of tracking down contact information at CnR for Max.

You are saying you have multiple nick names at microgaming poker network? Or is this mg (prima) poker network. They only allow one nickname and if they discover multiple they lock your accounts in a heartbeat. Happened to me back in the day, and it took about 2 months to get other nickname disabled and the other opened again....

No response to this?

Also to the above post I agree that there are plenty of Prima skins that have had problems. Also the network doesn't seem to have a way to go to them when they lock your account. I've never thought ery highly of that network. I'm in a banned state now so it doesn't matter.
