SUBs (and for that matter other promos) have changed a lot (for the worse) in my opinion, mainly as a consequence of the perennial struggle between casino operators and players and the different goals of each.

Experienced players want efficient and respectful service and try to maximise returns through skill and interpretation to best advantage of the T&Cs that the casino offers on its bonuses.

The casino operator hopes that he can not only attract players with his promos but keep them coming back for more, and has in many cases the misguided idea that the player has an obligation to do so having accepted a bonus and complied with the T&Cs (which do not require subsequent play in most cases).

In between we have the out-and-out crooks who actually break the T&Cs in order to prosper off the casino.

And the casino crooks who arbitrarily and without justification disqualify the winnings and bonuses of players who have adhered strictly to all the T&...

I agree that the games paid out about like they do now back in the mid late 90s. The huge difference was the sub's were unbelievably easy. Made alot of money that way.

Those were the days, yes....considering back then you didn't have to worry about getting paid ...or arrested, if you lived in Washington state.

I would say the chance of winning big was roughly the same. When I first started out I hit a nice $10,000 win on the early Microgaming software back in 1997 or 1998-ish. I was paid by check (in two weekly installments) and had no problems cashing them. Ah, the good old days.

And I'm not all that old! I graduated high school in 1997 and it wasn't long after that when I discovered online casinos.

Casinomeister has everything somewhere on the site or in the archives.

The following can be regarded as pretty reliable because it was compiled by one of Casinomeister's most alued and diligent members (no longer a part of this community, regrettably) who did extensive research on historical as well as rogue operators:

Was reading Jetset's posting : UK online gambling customer service improving. The original report ( www.talisma.com/onlinegambling. ) says that Internet casinos Inc was the first online casino, opening in 1995.

I have often wondered who the first online casino was. Do readers here have information on Internet casinos Inc?
