However, the exchange rate was good and I didn't get charged a currency conversion fee to go from US to AU$. I used a Westpac ATM. Need to find one that doesnt charge the $4.
All in all, I am happy with this.

I haven't ever loaded more (or really less either). You can withdraw more than 1K at a time(i have taken out like 1100, since I load 1K i just if i keep only taking 1K out the money builds up on the card) . So how much more i don't know. The 4 for withdrawing i don't pay, i presume because of the way that atm processes it.
So the load charge is only $1 is the withdraw one which is big. But as i said they don't charge me on my new favourite atm which is a westpac one. | | Static Link |

I don't get cheques i get bank wires. The advantage of a bank wire is it allows you to recieve the money in $A and hence you don't have to pay a large fee at your bank for processing. Also it will only take the standard 3 days to clear.
Yes neteller charges 1.9%.
Actually it would cost $14.50 per $500 (excluding annual fee) as there is also a $1 charge to load the card. Which is made up of $9.50 currency fee and $5 other fees.
With the bank draft there is a $10 flat fee (excluding currency costs which are equal). So assuming you withdrew the max each withdrawal ($1000) it would be better to use the Neteller card for Neteller withdrawals of $2000 and under. While for withdrawals > $2000 the bank draft would be best.
Obviously if you are making smaller withdrawals then the bankdraft would become a better option at a lower amount.

I would check around with atm's because not all charge the $4. On my statement it says "$4 for balance" but not all charge it. I thought it was being gay and taking a balance when i didn't ask for one.
After reading this my guess is that some atm's make the transaction like a credit card payment and thus no withdrawal fee. | | Static Link |

What currency is your Neteller account in? If in US dollars, what currency do yo have Neteller write the check in? Does neteller charge you the 1.9% to convert from US to AU? If you have them write the check in US, what does the bank charge to convert it?
Neteller card costs 1.9% for currency conversion. It is also supposed to cost 4 bucks to withdraw from an ATM. All my poker accounts are in US dollars as is my Neteller acct so it costs $13.50 to withdraw $500US at an AU ATM. Here is the chart from Neteller.

It is pretty decent actually as long as you know when you are going to need your funds. What i do is withdraw any excess funds i have above my required bankroll whenever the exchange rate is favourable.
I ususally don't cashout less than $3000 at a time as the fee of $10 they charge becomes too great a % of my withdrawal.
I can't really comment on a party bank draft (which i think is what we are talking about) but the neteller draft usually takes 15-20days from when requested to arrive. I live in Newcastle. The Draft goes through Melb however so once it arrives it just takes the usual 3 days to clear as it is counted as domestic rather than international. | | Static Link |

It takes about 20 days to clear.
Mitch would be best to answer this question because he makes all his withdrawals that way.

I doubt very much if your will be able to cash a party poker check into a US bank account. It will probably be rejected because the checking house doesn't want to have to deal with the US government about putting money into US bank accounts. | | Static Link |
