That is why all the sklansky followers hate him. As said above 77 is a crap hand in limit, but in no limit with deep stacks 77 is a thousand times better than KQ. KQ can't stand a reraise and sometimes even a single raise in no limit, 77 can. Vise versa in limit, you can't call 2 bets with 77. Of course if you play badly you can do whatever you want, just don't expect to win.

he gave it two different ratings.
a 1 for his bizarre hold-em advice.
a 6 for the rest of the book.
some of the tourney advice is okay.
and some of the advice on omaha and o/8 and stud seems decent enough as well.
if you are interested in these games and haven't played them much before it actually is an adequate starting place with decent beginners' advice imo.
some of the stories were actually interesting as well.
however, it is true that MUCH of the book is ego-driven crap.
please don't take the any of the positive stuff i said the wrong way. NOBODY is more annoyed by Hellmuth than me.
i would have only one problem if one of you guys actually did punch hellmuth in the mouth....and that problem would have something to do with you beating me to it and my extreme jealousy.
btw....spending your UB-points on merchandise isn't exactly the best value.

If you cut out his stories on how his great hand got beat by an inferior hand. Or how he is better than the player that put him out. If you can get by that it is a great book. If his stories were taken out then the book would be about 60 pages.
I like it but it's a lot to get through.
