I have never gotten that error message, you should email PTrack Pat about that, he's quite helpful.
As for compacting times, this isn't something that bothers me as I let it compact right before I head to bed. I don't care if it takes 4 hours to compact
Now, load times are very slow. One thing that is very helpful, is to make use of the filters. So, unless you want to look at all your stats, just filter it to a certain limit/poker site. Also, if you don't have any statistics windows that are open when you import HHs (excluding game time windows) this will speed things up a ton.

How big is your pokertracker database?
I currently have over 33,000 hands in mine and it takes forever (15-20 min) on my laptop to compact the poker database. Also, when I try to compact the hand history database, I get this error:
Application terminated.
Error: Bad runtime function reference at line 9 in clicked event of object m_compacthandhistorydatabase of m_frame
So, I guess what I'm asking is, do you create a new database once you get so many hands?
I like having everything in one, but if it is going to be this slow and generate errors, it's not worth it.
Input?
Thanks,
JP
