now I can't tolerate anything under 4 tables and I'm around 19-23% depending on the type of game.

Thanks for the input Ice. I hear what you are saying... I considered the nano limits to be a "cheap" learning ground for multitabling (not to hone my poker skills); but I think I have gotten past the point where I would turn to the sites with nanos now.
Since my $ results so far are a lot better than I had ever anticipated being a newbie Hold'em player, I have built a little bankroll where it doesn't feel as "dangerous" to "chance" multitabling some at the $.5/1 limit...
So since I posted the original question here about two weeks ago, I have dared experiment some more with this, and it has been ok. Two tables of $1/2 (Party or Crypto) feels ok now, if I am having a good day. Tried 3 tables of $.5/1 - also OKish, but I definately felt my strategy slipping considerably

DON'T play the nano limits. you will a: aquire bad habits, and b: think you're a poker god after a month of raping drunk retierees and compuilsive gambling teenagers. IMO, it's a bad idea to start playing any lower than .50/1. (although, lots of posters have said that that's not the case at stars and paradise, where even the nano players are half-decent.)
invest a couple hundred bucks, bonus-whore yourself up a roll and dive into .50/1 or 1/2. you'll lose a few hundred bucks, but the bonuses should help you at least break even. read 'small stakes hold 'em' 'theroy of poker' 'hold 'em poker' and 'holdem poker for advanced players'. if you are smart enough to absorb even the basic info in those books (it doesn't take a roc... | | Read Entire Entry |

Go to Ultimate Bet. They have nano-limit games and you can mini-view up to three tables (I think that is the max).
Thanks alot - will check it out a.s.a.p. Will try to use it to learn multitabling, even if (from what I read) the actual bonuses seem to clear very slowly at UB. Still, at really low limits it sounds like a good training ground!

Good luck.
You won't clear any bonuses at UB at the nano limits but they are probably a bit better than the play money tables.

Since many of the posts here are about games (Stud, Omaha, etc) I haven't tried yet (and don't intend to in the near future); I wanted some specific advice on how to approach learning to multitable micro/low limit hold'em games. So far, I've basically been playing $.5/1 tables at Party and $1/2 tables at a couple of Crypto sites (since that is their lowest limit available). Have only been doing one table at a time, which means bonuses take time to clear. However, I still consider myself a beginner player, and my results so far vary from loosing about half the bonus in the time it takes to clear it, to gaining about $100 clearing InterPoker's $90 deposit match (with big swings in the process). Since I am not consistently winning or breaking even, I fear that meddling with two or more tables at this point will hurt my bankroll, so what is the best approach to this - for the cautious? If you are in the blinds at all 4 tables then it gets harder.
Agreed, agreed, agreed. I always play four NL25 tables on Party and it forces you to a) Use conservative initial hand selection. I often play only the top two Sklansky groups. b) Forget about being cute with bluffs and deception c) Quickly abandon gray-area hands like top pair with weak kicker, etc. d) And most importantly not to draw out flushes and straights (which used to be my biggest leak). You can almost go on auto-pilot and let the hands play themselves. | | Static Link |

No. It won't allow the same IP table twice at a table. If it did, I could start up 4 cryptos and play 4 seats at a table. I wouldn't of course. But it isn't even possible. | | Static Link |

I have been focusing on playing solid poker, and whore along the way. Why not get paid to learn?
I have only multi-tabled freerolls on Intertops, and find that a rush. (I am trying out tourney strategies for free ) I have yet to do more than two real tables (when switching from a tight to loose tables) at a time.
I am starting to get bored on one table, and figure two might force me to focus better. I figure the crypto sites are a place to start since they are slow to begin with .
BTW, I use my ultra-portable laptop since I am highly moble. 1024 x 768 is frig'in annoying for multitabling.

But I remember when I was nervous about two tabling. Then I found bonuses. Once you start seriously bonus whoring, you have to step it up. There are just entirely to many hands to be played to try it with only one or two tables going. There isn't enough time unless you want to be in front of the computer constantly, which my wife and kids wouldn't dig. Today, I four tabled for the first time at Empire. While it seemed intense initially, it settled down fairly quickly and I had little poroblem with it. While I would occasionally fold a playabe hand to concentrate on a monster elsewhere, it rarely had any real effect on my play as you rarely are involved with a hand at more than one table. A nice side effect was that I didn't have time to sit around adding up my totals worrying about how much I was up or down. | | Static Link |

when i started multitabling, it killed my roll and took insane concentration. now i get bored if i play less than 4.
it all depends on the game though;
limit omaha- as many as i can open, if there's that many good games.

limit holdem- only 1 (this is by far my worst game, and i open some limit omaha tables too)
NL holdem- depends on the stakes, 10 or 25$ buy, bring em on! 50 or 100$ buy, usually two (+2 lomit omaha8 tables)
