8% is not norm in the long run but, who cares about the freaking long run. LOL | | Static Link |

That number is basically screwy sometimes cause if you are raising in position with some questionable hands that don't see a flop that boosts that number.

It is player-specific, as most of the stats are. A squeaky-tight player will have a typical day of 5% and one of those "everything is going right today" days of 6%. Looser players will have a higher %. | | Static Link |

Many things like cards you are getting and table condition determines your winning %. For example, my winning % is lot higher when I am playing 3/6 or 5/10 as compared to playing 1/2 because the play is tighter in higher level and I adjust my aggression accordingly. If anything, I'd say your VP$IP should be lower than 21%.

If the conditions aren't optimal (more often than not); 5%-8%. My VP$P is also 21%. I think this is ideal. Your friend is probably a looser player, which isn't necessarily bad if he has good post-flop play (but most loose preflop players have terrible post-flop play).
But none of that matters. If 1 out of every 100 hands, some divine being told me "by the river, you will win this hand, guaranteed", I would happily pump the pot non-stop during that 1%, and fold everything (even AA) during the other 99%. I'd have a 1% win rate, and a huge profit (well, assuming my opponents never caught on to the fact that I win every showdown, but that isn't such an extraordinary assumption at the tables I play at).

I know my low percentage could be caused by not playing enough hands, or just playing poorly. My VP$IP is around 21%.
I have started using Poker Tracker and have about 9000 hands logged. What particular stat in Poker Tracker should I be concerned with?
Thanks for the help. | | Static Link |
