I was in your situation a few months ago. A great starting point in my opinion is the boss media sites. $100 bonus clearable at $.05/.10 since pot only has to reach $1 for a raked hand (have to contribute to the pot though) check the boss media thread in bonus discussion.

so casino.net/ sporting odds are where you should probably hit up and build a bank roll to whore some of the higher stake bonuses

If you have the money, get the max depsoit bonus at Ultimate Bet then withdraw most of it and continue playing very low limits there. You get pints for every hour played at a table even if the pot isn't raked. The bonus will clear very slowly, but at least you'll get something.

Try to log 10k hands at every level, and only move up if you're beating it for 2 BB/100. If not, play another 10k. This is very conservative, but will keep you from moving up too fast and busting out.

play where you're comfortable. The first time I whored, I did .50/1. A lot of the people will tell you its more efficent doing it at higher levels, and thats true for them. But if you're intimidated to put bets into a pot, you'll lose your bonus before you even earn it.

I recommend .25/.50 at pstars and get to 300 where you can play comfortably, before going to .5/1.

It wasn't until 1/2 where I started feeling really stressed about losing 40 dollar pots.

That's good you know that about yourself. Never play with scared money.

ed209's post pretty much sums things up except I would recommend playing at UB right now. There's an interesting post in the discussion forum: http://www.bonuswhores.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=19595 Sounds like it would be great for the exact limit you're playing at now.

there used to be a decent number of bonuses cleared easily at 50c/$1 limits but now the majority of remaining deals are best done at $1/2 minimum or even $2/4 in some cases.

for now, concentrate on playing well at the nano-limits and learn good habits against other small money opponents. plenty of action available at Poker Stars, and there might be some bonuses on the IPN/Boss network which still can be done at very low stakes (but most of them have probably been killed as well).

when you've built up to about $200 then you can try working bonuses at Paradise and UB, until you reach $500 where more stuff opens up.

I've been learning about playing poker these past few months.
I've read some books (SSH, TOP, SS) and been playing on PS at .02/.04
got PT and Phud and after about 6k hands I'm up a little bit.
Nothing special I know but I wanted to give a little bit of info before I got to my question wich is.

What level of play should I be at to be able to start whoring comfortably?
I can't imagine being able to clear a $200 bonus playing .05/.10 or so.

I searched the forums a bit and read somewhere that 1/2 is good.

Should I wait til I get to that level or can I start sooner?
I have to be honest and don't think I could play at that level yet, I would be to scared.

I apologize if this has been answered before but I wasn't able to find anything concrete after searching.

Looking forward to some replies or if you could point me in the right direction that would be great.
