Does anything really scare you on 4th street when you have the nut flush after the flop? Unless 4th or 5th street pairs the board or there's the small chance of a straight flush, nothing would really scare me.

I meant scary card to anyone else. Everyone's checked and then some guy spikes a second six on the turn. It's not scary to him and he suddenly thinks his got a chance. An ace drops though, one guy bets and everyone but me folds.

Thanks for the advice though.

Gotcha. I now understand what you meant.
That situation can go many different ways depending on how many people are in the pot. With 4 or 5 players, someone usually hits something by 4th or they were slowplaying (like you might be).

The worst card at that point that stops people from be...

Quote: my biggest payoff was 4 of a kind kings that beat someone that had a full house (3 kings showing plus his pocket aces)..that was a sweet pot I think i took in 200US

No, I think it was me. This happens to me every time I make a boat. The other person usually makes quads, though, with a pocket pair that makes quads on the turn or river after I flop the bigger boat.

I think one week it happened to me 16 times over 2500 hands.

This is kind of a hijack, but can someone give me their take on this.
You have Axs on the button. The flop comes and completes the nut flush for you. Everyone checks to you.

What to do? Bet and everyone's likely to fold and you pick up the preflop bets. Or would you check and then hope for a non-scary scare card to get someone else betting?

How would you approach this differently depending on position and pot size?

(ps if the flop is suited and I don't have the same suit and I'm last to act, I'd bet the bluff - if this right or wrong?)

This could be played many different ways - mainly dependent on preflop bets, position, stakes involved, and the other players' behaviors.

I have probably made more $ from slowplaying than anything else, but again that can be dependent to many other things.

If I'm on the button, and no one ...

CONGRATS!!!

I've gotten two royals myself, only the first paid off. First one was when I was 7 or 8, and I won about $80 in a family homegame with a heart royal (yes, cool family, and my dad was an insatiable gamester who passed it on)

The other was on UB a few months back, royal in diamonds. I couldn't buy or trick my way into a call, got the blinds

No problem.

I'm thinking of buying some gum tonight. Any ideas what flavour to go for?

(sheesh - I said 'well done' didn't I? Anyone'd think you'd done something hugely improbable...)

couldn't start a new thread, could you? Gotta steal my glory, don't you?

Well, to answer your question that should be in a different thread, yes, you bet, especially if there are 4+ people in the pot. A SB into a 4-5.5 SB pot gives people a lot of excuses to call. If a blank hits on the turn and they check to you, then you are guarenteeing everyone folding to you because now they have to see a BB into the same pot.

Few people are going to put you on the flush...most will put you on top pair or even second pair depending on the flop. Anyone with a face card in teh flush suit is sticking around too, hoping for a 4th flush card.

If I'm in EP, I bet this too. Nobody is going to believe you flopped the flush and some might think you are trying to steal from EP. If I'm in MP, I MIGHT check this if people behind me are agressive. If they aren't or if I don't have a read on them, I bet.

There...an answer to your hijack. Thank you so very much for making a 650,000 to...

I'm dealt AKclubs. Flop comes out 10-J-Q clubs.

I didn't have a lot of callers and only won about 8BB on the pot, but it sure was nice to see. It was on PokerNow, so there was not bonus, but I sent them an email politlyasking of there was a bonus for such a rare hand.

We'll see.
