Currently, I only play tournies on the weekends and whore throughout the week. I play in whatever tournies I get for free from my whoring efforts. I do like the idea of 100 buyins though and I have been trying to decide if I want to get more money involved in tournies. Since I have whored a lot of different sites I have noticed that some sites tend to have much better players than others. For example, I think NLHE players at Poker Stars and Ultimate Bet are generally better than players at the same limits/games at Prima and Absolute Poker, Pacific Poker, etc. Based on that one would guess that playing MTTs at sites with worse players (sites with sucky players) would be more profitable than playing at sites with better opponents in the long run. BTW the worst players I have run into by far are at Bet365 Poker, these guys/gals really really suck at NLHE.

I am more protective of my bankroll then most players and my 100 buy-in system lets me be 99.9% sure i won't go broke.It also keeps me from jumping levels too fast and facing players with much more experience.I'm at the $100 buy in level now and hope to have the bankroll for the 200's by the end of the year.
If $400 is your TOTAL bankroll it will be very easy for you to go broke playing the $33 multi's at stars.I wouldn't play higher than the$10's till you have at least 750-1K. | | Static Link |

started on freerolls about 1 1/2 yrs ago
built up about a $500 bankroll and moved to $5 tournies (100 buy ins)
when I hit $1000 moved up to $10 's at $2000 moved up to $20's at $3000 went to $30's ect.....
I think 100 buy-in's is a very safe # and you should be safe from going broke.
I am whorng 90% of my playing time so i only play 5-10 tournies a month.
It's a nice way to break up the daily grind.I think I am also going to start playing some sit-n-go's to clear the bodog bonus. I think 20 buy-in's for that is about right.
when I play tournaments I never multi table.No surfing no music ect..
Not sure if any of this helps you but that's my method.With any luck I hope to be a steady $200 player in a year or 2 there is some sick money at those final tables on stars and party | | Static Link |

I am seeking advice on how one should balance bankroll with playing tournaments. One school thought that I had seen on a forum was to spend 5-10% on playing in tournies and use the rest for ring games. So here's my questions
1. Do you spend money playing tournies or rely on freeroll tournaments or ones offered from accrued bonus points?
2. Do you spend a significant amount of time playing tournaments or focus mainly on whoring?
3. Do you play ring and tournament tables simultaneously?
