Thanks you for answer so far.

I've been playing for about 6 months, normally I play cashgame 0.5 / 1 NL, 3-5 tables.

I also play about 1-3 times a week live tournaments with like 6-10 friends. But it's the NL cashgame online I want to improve, atleast now..

Ay other suggestions?

There aren't that many great NL books written. However, like others have mentioned, Harrington on Hold'em is a great book. I would also recommend Theory of Poker by David Sklansky. Super System's is alright I wasn't the biggest fan of it. Hold'em Poker for Advanced Players is also a great book but could be too complex for the beginning player and is more of a limit HE book. Also, if your playing live poker Caro's Books of Tells is excellent.

What skill level are you, how long have you been playing.

Super System is a pretty good book even though it covers a lot of other games.

When I started to learn NL Super System was one of the good books.

Definately Harrington on Hold 'em. Although the books are focused more on tournaments, they have helped my cash game as well. Volume I is probably better for cash games than Volume II though.

I'm reading Harrington on Hold'em right now, it's a 2 volume set. So far, it is great. Haven't applied it much yet, but what he saids in the book makes a lot of sense, and the hand examples really get you to think about the game. I noticed it is on their site.

I found Championship No-limit & Pot-limit Hold'em by T.J Cloutier to be marginally useful at best, a waste of money though worth reading if you could borrow the book and played in larger tournaments. The focus of the book is aimed at the earliest parts of large scale tournaments and can be sumemrized as play tighter than anyone you ever saw and then throw away half of those hands. Could be good advice on the first days of a ten day event <shrug>. However, I got the distinct impression that Cloutier left out critical things about his game much like the old lady leaving out a few key steps for making her mom's secret chocolate pie. For sure you will not have a clue how to win the large events since the ultra tight strategy described by Cloutier will fail once you are playing the better players and the blinds are significant.

This book is not useful for ring games or SNG events. Get something else.

Greetings whores.

I've come across a swedish site (gratispokerbok.se) to get 2 poker books for free when playing at either empire or pacific, unfortunately this is for swedes only.

My question for you is what books should I choose?

I am a NL hold'em player and want to advance in my online cash game.

Which books do you think should suite me?

I have almost decided for "Doyle Brunson's Super System II", is this a good alternative?
