Bellagio 500+40 final table 7 players. Rock from ep+1 open raises 4xbb, rock hasn't raised in 1 hour at the table, not even to steal the blinds, he has shown down two previous hands, Aces and Queens both big pp. Donkey tourist mp1 picks up 22, reraises all in which is around 12bb.... this is a classic donk move from a donk player who probably donked his way into the money. Dumbest play I've seen in at least a month.

Yes it was. But thankfully Surly still outlasted the smurfin donk fuck.

Ok, it's probably not in the Oxford English Dictionary but...
From the Family Guy:

TELEVISION ANNOUNCER: We now return to the Smurfs...
(on television screen)
Smurf #1: Hey, did you have a good time last night?
Smurf #2: Smurf-tacular!
Smurf #1: Yeah, I saw you leave with Smurfette.
Smurf #2: Oh man, as soon as we got out of the bar, she started smurfing me.
Smurf #1: Shut the Smurf up!
Smurf #2: Yeah!
Smurf #1: Right in the Smurfing parking lot?
Smurf #2: Smurf-Yeah!
Smurf #1: Oh! That is freaking Smurf!

Donkey has been slang for a "stupid person" for quite some time (pre poker craze), but it has just become a more commonly used word to describe poor play in the poker world as well. It is often shortened to "donk" as you've seen.

And yes, it has been converted to a verb. A "donk" bet is when a player leads a bet into the previous rounds aggressor, just as you described in your second paragraph.

Ok, first time I came across the word donk, Phil Helmuth was crying about playing against a bunch of "donks" when some online qualifier knocked him out of a WSoP tourney (or crippled him, something like that). I figured it was short for donkey, which didn't make a ton of sense to me but I figured it was just a new word for a bad player (kind of like fish, dead money, or dumbass). What is the origin of the word donk?

Also, now I see the word being used as a verb. For example, I've seen hand descriptions written as follows: Hero has AQo in mid position. The hero raises, there's a flop. A player in early position donks and the hero raises. There's a turn card and the same early position player "donks" again.

Ok I don't get it and my mom told me I couldn't be a cool poker player if I didn't know all the words. I AM cool, my mom said so!
