I get up between 6-7am EST. Coffee, breakfast, coffee, internet, coffee, dicking around for an hour.
Then I get a cup of coffee and play poker for a solid 4 hours.
Then I take a break and make a pot of coffee and lunch.
After lunch, I take care of random errands that come up. Post office, shopping, oil change, coffee, bank, strib club, etc.
The rest of the afternoon is either DVD time, video game time, and/or more poker. Whatever feels right at the moment.
No more play after 6pm, unless there's a specific promotion or tournament scheduled.
In the beginning, I had the idea of only making a certain amount per day also (and it was $100). But that's just bad for the reasons earlier mentioned so I switched to a 2-week pay period like I had at my old job.
And one of these days, I'm gonna wait a full 2 weeks before cashing out. | | Static Link |

But I play until I don't want to play anymore. It just so happens that I play more when I'm losing than when I'm winning. If I'm losing it's usually because a sucker is getting lucky and the game is good, I'm just not dodging enough bullets. It usually changes.
I understand what you're thinking. I get stuck then I get frustrated and gamble to make it up. I'm sure you know that after you play tens of thousands of hands you get a feel for a table pretty quickly. I don't love poker. I know a lot of guys really love it and they are always thinking about it, and they just want to be in the action... Eep. Horrible idea. You're chasing your losses. If you are having a bad day where you are getting your ass kicked at the tables - either through bad luck or your own bad play - you should stop and regroup. When you are "stuck" and keep playing to make it up, you often can dig yourself an even deeper hole.
OTOH, if you are having a good day where you are ruling the tables, why would you leave until you peak and start losing a bit? I've had days where I played 3 hours past when I was ready to quit, because I was catching cards and had an incredible table image at the tables I was playing on - why leave a goldmine when there's plenty of ore left to take?

Forum: Bonus Whores | i play for income, and have no set schedule. honestly, ever since i started playing full time, i've gotten pretty lazy about keeping hours. a cold streak from hell the past three months hasn't helped either.
my hours are usually 2pm - 5 pm, and maybe another hour after dinner. i really think i should be putting in more time, as i am feeling pretty unproductive. i only play three or four days a week as well, usually running errands or goofing off the other three days.
i think i'll probably start increasing my hours if i can finally get out of this rut of cold cards hitting me in the head.

civ 1 and 2 rocked. what id like to knwo about 4 is how good is the multiplayer function? civ 2 blew for multiplayer.

I usually play 3-4 hours a day for 4 to 5 days during the week. Couple hours during the day around 4 PM and couple hours after 10 PM. I've only played 2 hours this week due to circumstances, though.

My sleep patterns are all over the place
But I am not sure if having a structure would help or not - if I felt like I had to go and play at such-and-such a time, it might start feeling like a job....
But I do feel I have to have some kind of 'core' time to do bonuses, and then use other time to improve my game, read books, play other games and tourneys and SnGs etc., to keep things fresh. Perhaps I should map out hours in a week taking these into account and make sure I do some of each?
