Damn, I hate it when they change the rules of the game every couple of months

exactly -- for about 6 months it was great, but now everyone has read it...so you have to adjust to the fact that everyone's read it.

If everybody who is playing has read them, then I'd chuck poker in. Reading and learning is part of the edge you earn for yourself. At the lower to middle internet poker levels I would think that very few have any idea of the strategies in these books.

At higher levels of poker, then sure, most will have read them - or should have.

Didn't mean to imply there wasn't a lot of good stuff in harrington 1 & 2...they are definitely still worth a read. My apologies if I made it sound otherwise.

My comment was re: being outdated - times a-moving that fast in the poker world?

Sorry, I can't. That was the last thing I read. I play almost exclusively NL ring games, and it doesn't seem like there's a lot to read on that.

If you are quite an advanced player you will probably be better ironing out weaknesses in your own game by working hard on examining your game through poker tracker.

Also I find it helps my game by watching good players play on the high stakes tables and running back key hands through poker tracker which they have played!

Harrington is best book i have read on NL poker so far!

Which book would you recommend for a "pretty advanced" NL player to help him better his NL play and finally be able to soon move up in limits?

Also, same question, but for SNG.

I really dont need a book which will explain me what pot odds means and how to calculate that. I mean a book to help an advanced player develop his play to beat higher limits.
