So what you do is study your hand histories and think about hands. You learn lessions by studying in your down time to apply when you are playing.
I walk 3 miles each morning and think about the hands from the last few days. Sometimes I even write myself notes and post them on edges of my monitor. I am old - so I am slow to learn new tricks. But its worth the effort to learn to make sophisticated plays without thinking.
Its work, but its how you get better.

1. Hand converters are great for two reasons. They keep me from reading about what new tables are starting up, and they don't give ColinW reads that Jack.Duck didn't have.
2. There are no "0"s in a standard deck, and "1"s are called Aces. Can we agree that "Tens" are called "T"s? It's even less to type.
3. I really like the way the Dr thinks, but do you have that much time to think at Bodog?
Thanks.

| Posted by: ColinW at June 7, 2007, 11:49 pm | | Topic: 50 nl jj turn decision Forum: Bonus Whores | I know this player, he is a big time loser at Bodog and in this hand Id guess he had A 6, A 7, 99, 10 10, as his most likely hands. A set is quite possible but not likely. He is not likely to play a suited connector so I think u can rule out a straight though he could easily be drawing with a 77.
I also think he would have reraised with QQ or better most of the time and you need to shove your JJ and expect to win 2 out of 3 times. The turn 4 didnt help him. | | Static Link |
| Posted by: DrStrange at June 7, 2007, 10:02 pm | | Topic: 50 nl jj turn decision Forum: Bonus Whores | With those stats let's start by agreeing the Villain doesn't have AA - QQ. Its possible he plays his huge hands that way, but I doubt it.
So lets figure the hands he might have, bad news first.
He could have floped a straight and have you drawing at 4 outs.
He could have floped a set and have you drawing at 2 outs
He could have a 4 where you are drawing at 2 outs.
The good news:
He could have an over pair, but one worse than jacks, he is drawing to two outs
He could have a straight draw or a pair plus straight draw, he has as many as 13 outs.
He could be on a wild haired bluff.
All in all I think Villain is behind more often than ahead. This board is a great place for the Villain to be semiblufing. Even so, some people would find a fold here. All you have is one pair.
However, I think you should push. This is a high variation play, but you only need to be winning about 40% of the time to be profitable.
