The cards are less important compared to limit and you have more control imo.
Also the bad streaks seem less and less big/long as well.
Only downside is that you can loose your stack/buy-in in like 20 seconds | | Static Link |

Neither, i actually stopped playing for a while... work/time issues, none related to my loosing streak.
Im doing fine now that im playing again, about 250$ up in 1.5k hands on 1/2, 2/4, good weekend i would say.
Let's see how it goes the rest of the month... other than that i just did the empire reload breaking even on 9-10 tables of .25/.50

My last 200k hands have been like this.
1000BB upwing for the first 50k hands.
Then followed by a break even strectch for 150k hands.
I rarely tilt and I am 99% sure i am a better player now than I was 200k hands ago | | Static Link |

That gave me just the confidence I needed. At the moment I am playing limit with an occasional NL or S&G for fun.
And after the first 6000 hands I have a ratio of 4,65BB/1000 so that means I am doing quite fine then.
I will closely monitor my playings and see how it will go in the next 6000 hands.
Thanks for the replies. It seems like I bumped into a really nice forum here with some serious players! | | Static Link |
| Posted by: daraider at June 25, 2007, 3:22 am | | Topic: Bad Streak or Bad play? Forum: Bonus Whores | if your averaging 4 or 5 BB/100 hands your doing okay, especially if it is limit. NL micros you can get inflated earn rates due to the donks at that level that aren't maintainable at higher levels.
If you have a losing session and it is just about break even that isn't too bad.
A lot of players when they have a losing session tend to tank a lot, and then not win much.
Like you can win $10 9 sessions in a row and lose $100 in the next and your a losing player despite 90% of your sessions being winning sessions. This shows that your really playing one giant session. | | Static Link |
| Posted by: Angler at June 24, 2007, 11:41 pm | | Topic: Bad Streak or Bad play? Forum: Bonus Whores | @Daraider: my loosings were mostly small and my winnings mostly large. Had some losses when I had trips and lost, second nutflush and lost etc.
For example: played all day yesterday and lost about 8 dollars in 6 hours, then scored a $8 pot and finished $-0,45.... | | Static Link |
| Posted by: Angler at June 24, 2007, 11:37 pm | | Topic: Bad Streak or Bad play? Forum: Bonus Whores | Thanks,
I already have pokertracker and checked all my hands. Of course there were some mistakes (nobody is perfect) but no bigones I think.
I did notice I have lost JJ 8 times on a roll....
I have also seen that on average my BB/100 is around 4 to 5 for those 6000 hands.
Btw, I like your name. Makes me remember the Avengers | | Static Link |
| Posted by: daraider at June 24, 2007, 11:33 pm | | Topic: Bad Streak or Bad play? Forum: Bonus Whores | well i don't know if you are playing limit or nl, typically variance is bigger in limit than nl (if your good, not if your bad).
But honestly at micros it should be easy to win consitantly. Normally all you have to do is your play your cards, very mechanical.
Were your losing sessions train wrecks or small losses? Where you winning sessions big or small. BB/100 profit too. most players typically do +/- 5BB/100 hands of the average.
Personally I haven't had a losing week in a long long time from cash games. It would suprise me if there were a few here who frequent these forums in similar positions. | | Static Link |
| Posted by: DrStrange at June 24, 2007, 11:23 pm | | Topic: Bad Streak or Bad play? Forum: Bonus Whores | Depending on your base win rate, you can have a really long bad run. 10,000+ hands bad runs are not at all rare.
That being said - it is quite rare to find someone on a bad run who isn't also playing poorly. If you aren't running poker tracker, buy it and run it. Otherwise you really have no good way to study your mistakes.

| Posted by: Angler at June 24, 2007, 11:13 pm | | Topic: Bad Streak or Bad play? Forum: Bonus Whores | Hi there,
I was wondering the following: how long can a bad streak be?
I have been playing for a month now (low limit 0,1-0,2 and cleared Empire + Reload) The first 3 weeks I made a profit every day (not counting the bonus) and the last week 5 of the seven days I made a loss.
Now it does not sound too bad, I know as I am on a net. profit and have $200 bonus from Empire in the pocket after 1 month but still, I need to know how long your longest bad streak was to compare and to share misery
Extra info: I played about 6000 hands now and the first 4000 I did in about 30 sessions with 2 losing ones. The last 2000 hands were about 15 sessions with about 10 losing ones. (with 5 on a row...)
Cheers,
