oh and btw, if you have gold membership(more expensive one) are the videos free? or do still have to pay something for each one?
thnx
I don't know about the membership, but the videos become inactive once your CR account expires.
Unless you remove the DRM

Umm, couldn't one just run some recording software while playing the video during the active membership, then watch the recording of the video after the expiration?
I am assuming they have tried to block this. I don't belong to cardrunners so I don't know if this possible. I know CardAcademy changed video type so that recording software wouldn't work.
But hey why would you want to? They offer it at a price which basically costs you nothing, so why rip someone off who does that? | | Static Link |

That's why "hourly rate" is such a great metric. If you make more per hour from (one table's winnings + slower bonus) than you do at (three table's slight losses + faster bonus) than go for the one table. If you make more per hour losing slightly but clearing bonuses faster then go ahead and three-table.
Just make sure, if that's the case, that you don't three-table unless you're clearing a bonus

it think the main reason i was playing 3 tables instead of 2 is because i want to clear the bonuses fast as iv recently got into bonus whoring, and they say you only need to be breakeven to be a decent bonus whore. i know that doesnt apply to my case as im only playing 25NL and the bonuses wont clear fast enough even if i play 3 tables to make a living out of it, but i did want to make atleast $200 a week playing poker the amount of hours i spend on it.
but i see what you guys mean, i probably will make up for not clearing the bonuses fast by actually making money playing the game.
appreciate all advice given | | Static Link |
| Posted by: GoldBoar at November 2, 2007, 9:04 am | | Topic: any advice for break even 25Nl player? Forum: Bonus Whores | I'll chime in with another vote for "focus on your hourly rate". If you make more per hour while bored at one table, stick to it, rather than add more tables and win less/break even/lose.

The way i added more tables was everytime i got to the stage where i was making decisions in a split second and then i was left with what seemed like an eternity before the next hand would pop up i would another table. Not sure if this would work for you though as you have already played 4 tables so it will prob seem boring playing only 1.
What you should do is try to make a game out of picking what the people in the hand have even when you are out of the hand.
Also you shouldn't be adding tables even if you have a lot of time unless you are winning at a decent rate. You really need to focus on becoming a solid winning player before you start adding more tables.
Also have you read any poker books? | | Static Link |
| Posted by: daraider at November 1, 2007, 5:29 pm | | Topic: any advice for break even 25Nl player? Forum: Bonus Whores | do a comparsion before doing cardrunners.
cardplayer.com/tv and search to watch free cardrunner videos
cardacademy.com to watch their free samples.
Personally i belive the cardrunner instructors don't properly adjust their game for the lower limits, while Nick at CA is about as good as you get at the lower limits having come up through them. A while back he had a prop bet he could be the winningest player at stars over a month at NL200 and won bet. | | Static Link |

really like the idea of spending the money on cardrunners instead
do videos really help that much? someone told me that videos arent really that great for learning... im not really sure, i like watching videos though
kinda of agrea with you mitch, its just i get frustrated because everyone around me is playing 4 tables, and my best poker m8 plays 10 tables and im sitting there moving along at 1 mile an hour on 2 tables, i feel like im wasting my time and should be on more :-\
but how do i really know when i should add tables, iv been sort of playing 1-2 tables and then moving to 3-4 tables, then moving back cause its not going too well, im kind of confused with this subject and glad you brought it up | | Static Link |

This is an obvious promlem. You are asking how to be a better than break even player and you say that you can do this if you play one table. But you can't when you 3 table. If moving up limits is important to you then you should improve your game and drop to 1 table and not jump straight to 3 tables. Maybe 2 might even help.
I can play 8 tables and still have a decent win rate, but when i started out i couldn't even 2 table without losing focus and feeling rushed. The key is to take it slow and only add one table at a time. | | Static Link |

Is it Paul Wasicka?
Hmmm. Without knowing how you play it's hard but what really helped me early on was i stopped playing those medium strength hands like QT, KT, QJ, JT until i really started to feel that i could put people on a range of hands very close to what they were holding. Once you learn to do that you can intergrate more speculative hands and know when to value bet and when to fold. | | Static Link |

i would be careful with a coach. you may be lucky, but i assume the quaility of his play probably isn't what you aspiring too. I think you should sack him and spend the money of cardacademy.
You should look at you biggest winning hands too. see what your doing right. | | Static Link |

hmm, not sure how to look for hard decissions :-\ all i look at are the more than $8 loss hands...
as for my coach, he watched me first 3 lessons, and then let me watch him play NL100 or NL200 cant remember which, and then watched me again for few sessions. i asked him if i can watch him play 25NL tomorow, which will be pretty good. what do you think i should do, should i pay him to read a load of my hand histories for an hour, will he be able to spot a load of leaks if i do that? maybe i could import a load of hands from poker tracker and he can put them in his poker tracker and read them all for an hour...
what should a coach be doing in your sessions with him then?

Your coach should be able to help you greatly. Unless you just started out with the coach, I wonder if you are getting much value for your money.
You do not specifically mention PokerTracker or a heads-up display. I assume you are using these tools, but if not install them ASAP.
Antgold, you need to understand that some players can't ever learn to beat NL25. (just like others can't beat NL100 or NL1,000) It is possible that you just aren't meant for poker.
However, it seem a bit premature to toss in the towel. You need to look over you hand history and find out where you are losing money and where you are winning. Truth is - your coach should already be doing that. I can learn a lot more about your play studying the hand histories than I can sitting behind you for an hour.
What you should look for are hands that had hard decisions. (bi... | | Read Entire Entry |

i have around 45 hours a week to spend on poker, and i mostly play, i read and answer a few HH posts sometimes and i have a poker coach me for 1 hour a week, he watches me play and tells me how to handle situations i get in...
just wondered if there is anything im missing here.. thought i would be moving up faster, iv played poker in total for 10 months and played a lot of hands and had to take up whoring just to make a little money while i play. :-\
if you could tell me how long it took you to beat 25NL aswell, that would be awesome
